ConocoPhillips Mulls Sale Of Western Canada Gas Properties

ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) is considering the sale of properties that account for about 20% of its production in Western Canada outside the oil sands. It is weighing whether to sell properties spread across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan in 2015, according to a copy of a marketing document seen by Bloomberg. The company hopes to select advisers for the process soon, Kristen Ashcroft, a company spokeswoman, said in a phone interview on February 13, 2015. The sale is part of the company’s regular review of its assets across the region, she said.

ConocoPhillips Freezes Salaries and Considers Job Cuts in the U.S

ConocoPhillips is freezing salaries and considering cutting jobs in the U.S. as the energy giant reduces its 2015 capital spending by more than 30%. With U.S. oil prices having fallen from more than $100 a barrel to $45 a barrel in six months, many oil and gas upstream companies are cutting back on their spending and production levels.
