The Cooper Companies Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended January 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $445,171,000 compared to $404,980,000 a year ago. Operating income was $73,108,000 compared to $81,622,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes of $67,465,000 compared to $79,456,000 a year ago. Net income was $61,749,000 compared to $72,265,000 a year ago. Net income attributable to the company shareholders was $61,179,000 compared to $71,843,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $1.25 compared to $1.47 a year ago. Non-GAAP operating income was $102,609,000 compared to $89,129,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP Income before income taxes was $96,966,000 compared to $86,963,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP net income was $86,471,000 compared to $78,067,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP net income attributable to the company shareholders was $85,840,000 compared to $77,576,000 a year ago. The Cooper Companies Inc. Revises Earnings Guidance for the Full Year of 2015

The Cooper Companies Inc. revised earnings guidance for the full year of 2015. For the period, the company expects revenue of $1.858 to $1.910 billion, down from prior guidance of $1.900 to $1.960 billion. EPS expected at $7.40 to $7.70, narrowed to the higher end of its prior guidance of $7.30 to $7.70 per share. Finally, The company expects capital expenditures and free cash flow for the year to be north of $200 million. Interest expense is expected to be around $18 million. Effective tax rate is expected to be in the range of 9% to 11%.
