The company qualified as a REIT for federal income tax purposes. It generally would not be subject to federal corporate income taxes if it distributes at least 90% of its taxable income to its stockholders. The company was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Carrollton, Texas.

CyrusOne Purchases New Data Center Facility in Austin

CyrusOne announced its continued expansion in Texas with the purchase of an additional powered shell in Austin’s Met Center. CyrusOne’s new Austin III data center is projected to be the company’s largest facility in Austin at 172,000 total square feet of shell and offering 120,000 colocation square feet (CSF), with up to 12 megawatts of power, and over 25,000 square feet of class A office space at full build. CyrusOne plans to use its Massively Modular® design engineering approach to optimize materials sourcing and enable delivery of energy optimization and just-in-time data hall inventory to meet customer demand. The first phase of construction includes up to 60,000 square feet of CSF and 6 megawatts of critical load. The Austin III data center is also going to be part of CyrusOne’s National Internet Exchange (IX) to enable interconnection to other CyrusOne data centers in Texas and beyond. The CyrusOne National IX marries low-cost robust connectivity with massively scaled data centers, and it creates a data center platform that virtually links more than a dozen of CyrusOne’s enterprise facilities and third-party locations in numerous metropolitan markets. Conveniently located just minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, the Austin III data center offers easy access to many amenities, including well-appointed hotels and restaurants.
