Columbia Banking System, Inc. operates as the bank holding company for Columbia State Bank that provides various banking products and services to small and medium-sized businesses, professionals, and individuals in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. It offers various personal banking products and services, including noninterest and interest-bearing checking accounts, saving accounts, money market accounts, and certificate of deposit accounts; fixed and variable rate home equity loans and lines of credit, home mortgages for purchases and refinances, personal loans, and other consumer loans; debit and credit cards; and electronic bill pay, and online and mobile banking services. The company also provides business banking products and services, such as agricultural, commercial and industrial, municipal, real estate and real estate construction, and SBA lending products; and cash management, international banking, merchant card, remote deposit capture, and small business services. In addition, it offers wealth management services to high net-worth individuals, families, and professional businesses in the areas of private banking, professional banking, financial services, and trust and estate services. The company provides individual and business retirement solutions, insurance solutions, wealth management solutions, and financial planning services. Further, it provides fiduciary, agency, trust, and related services. As of December 31, 2014, the company had 154 branches, including 78 branches in Washington, 60 branches in Oregon, and 16 branches in Idaho. The company was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in Tacoma, Washington.

Columbia Banking System Inc. Appoints Barry Ray as Chief Accounting Officer

On January 23, 2015, Columbia Banking System Inc. announced that Mr. Barry Ray was appointed as the Chief Accounting Officer of the Company. Prior to Mr. Ray's appointment as Chief Accounting Officer, the functions of the principal accounting officer were performed by Mr. Clint Stein in his capacity as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
