Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant Selects Rockwell Collins' ARINC Advanced Information Management Security Platform

Rockwell Collins' ARINC Advanced Information Management platform has been selected by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District to provide physical security for the Rancho Seco nuclear facility's Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) site. Rockwell Collins' ARINC AIM software will serve as the facility's primary command and control platform, providing a full range of intrusion detection, video surveillance, site situational awareness, and other security functions mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The ARINC AIM platform is a proven physical security solution and one of the only that meets the Code of Federal Regulations mandated by the NRC. The ARINC AIM security platform is used for security command and control applications for a majority of U.S. NRC facilities.

Rockwell Collins Announces Executive Changes

He reports to Jeff MacLauchlan, senior vice president, Corporate Development. Schmidt has spent his entire career with Rockwell Collins and has extensive institutional knowledge and aerospace and defense industry experience. Rockwell Collins Unveils ARINC UrgentLinkTM

Rockwell Collins unveiled ARINC UrgentLinkTM, the first national disaster communications network for public safety that enables first responders, public health, public safety and critical industry officials to communicate with each other when traditional networks are damaged or destroyed. The new solution will be demonstrated for the first time at the Annual Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) 2015 in the Rockwell Collins exhibit booth #2233. When a disaster destroys local communications infrastructure, ARINC UrgentLink(TM) enables first responders to communicate with one another as well as with public health, public safety and critical industries users within the disaster zone and other organizations outside the impact area. The new ARINC UrgentLink network removes the limitations that affect the reliability of traditional HF radio point-to-point communications, such as time of day, ionospheric fluctuations, sunspot and frequency selection. In addition, ARINC UrgentLink does not rely on electric power in the affected area, which often makes traditional communication vulnerable during a disaster.
