Cummins Inc. designs, manufactures, distributes, and services diesel and natural gas engines, and engine-related component products. It operates through four segments: Engine, Distribution, Components, and Power Generation. The Engine segment offers various diesel and natural gas powered engines under the Cummins and other customer brand names for the heavy-and medium-duty truck, bus, recreational vehicle, light-duty automotive, agricultural, construction, mining, marine, oil and gas, rail, and governmental equipment markets. This segment also provides new parts and service, as well as remanufactured parts and engines. The Distribution segment distributes and services parts and filtration products, power generation products, and engines, as well as offers service solutions, including maintenance contracts, engineering services, and integrated products. The Components segment offers emission solutions, including custom engineering systems and integrated controls, oxidation catalysts, particulate filters, oxides of nitrogen reduction systems, and engineered components; turbochargers for light-duty, mid-range, heavy-duty, and high-horsepower diesel markets; air filters, fuel filters, fuel water separators, lube filters, hydraulic filters, coolant, diesel exhaust fluid, fuel additives, and other filtration systems; and fuel systems primarily for heavy-duty on-highway diesel engine applications, as well as remanufactures fuel systems. The Power Generation segment designs and manufactures components that make up power generation systems, including controls, alternators, transfer switches, and switchgears, as well as provides power generation systems, components, and services. The company sells its products to original equipment manufacturers, distributors, and other customers worldwide. Cummins Inc. was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Columbus, Indiana.

Fier began his career with Cummins in 1986 as a Service Engineer and over the course of his career he has held various roles including Executive Engineer - HMLD On-Highway, World Wide Chief Engineer, Technical Project Leader and Program Leader and currently serves as Executive Director - HMLD Engineering. In his current role, Fier has led all new product development and current product support of Cummins 2.8 to 15 liter on and off-highway products for the global market.

Cummins Inc. Announces Two New Nominees for its Board of Directors

Cummins Inc. announced two new independent nominees for its Board of Directors Thomas J. Lynch, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, TE Connectivity, and Bruno Di Leo, Senior Vice President, Sales & Distribution, IBM Corporation. The two nominees will stand for election at Cummins' 2015 Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 12, along with Cummins' returning eight Board members. Lynch is Chairman and CEO of TE Connectivity. He is credited with transforming the company as it transitioned from the former electronics segment of Tyco International to a separate and independent public company. Di Leo has more than 35 years of business leadership experience in multinational environments. During his 40-year career at IBM, Di Leo has worked in a number of executive positions with a focus on growing business in emerging markets. In his current role, he is accountable for revenue, profit and client satisfaction in Japan, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Greater China Group, and the Middle East and Africa.

Allison Transmission Holdings, Inc. and Cummins Inc. Receive Certification from the California Air Resources Board for Model Year 2015 H 40/50 EP System Paired with ISB6.7 and ISL9 Engines

Allison Transmission Holdings Inc. and Cummins Inc. announced that they have received certification from the California Air Resources Board (ARB) to sell the model year 2015 Allison H 40/50 EP hybrid propulsion system paired with the Cummins ISB6.7 and ISL9 diesel-electric hybrid engines for transit buses and coaches. The dual Executive Order (EO) issued by the ARB to both Allison and Cummins allows sales of the Allison H 40/50 EP with the Cummins ISB6.7 or ISL9 diesel-electric hybrid engine, and is valid for 2015 models. The ARB first provided approval in 2014, but the process requires the EO to be reviewed for renewal eligibility on a model year basis. Allison's H 40/50 EP hybrid propulsion system is used for both straight and articulated transit buses. It has been shown to improve fuel economy up to 25% over similar diesel buses. Additionally, its regenerative braking capability can significantly extend the brake change interval by as much as 350%. The Cummins ISB6.7 and ISL9 diesel-electric hybrid engines feature proven technology designed and developed in-house that is optimized to deliver the efficiency, durability and performance transit bus customers expect. The ISB6.7 diesel-electric hybrid engine is rated at 280 hp (209kW) while the ISL9 diesel-electric hybrid engine is rated at 330 hp (246kW) for the transit bus market.
