Comerica Incorporated, through its subsidiaries, provides various financial products and services. It operates through three segments: Business Bank, Retail Bank, and Wealth Management. The Business Bank segment offers various products and services, such as commercial loans and lines of credit, deposits, cash management, capital market products, international trade finance, letters of credit, foreign exchange management services, and loan syndication services to middle market businesses, multinational corporations, and governmental entities. The Retail Bank segment provides small business banking and personal financial services, including consumer lending, consumer deposit gathering, and mortgage loan origination. This segment also offers a range of consumer products consisting of deposit accounts, installment loans, credit cards, student loans, home equity lines of credit, and residential mortgage loans. The Wealth Management segment provides products and services comprising fiduciary services, private banking, retirement services, investment management and advisory services, and investment banking and brokerage services. This segment also sells annuity products, as well as life, disability, and long-term care insurance products. The company operates in Texas, California, and Michigan, as well as in Arizona and Florida, the United States; Canada; and Mexico. Comerica Incorporated was founded in 1849 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

Comerica Incorporated Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Full Year 2015; Reports Net Loan Charge-Offs for the Second Quarter Ended June 30, 2015

Comerica Incorporated reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net interest income of $421 million against $416 million a year ago, due to an increase in loan volume and one additional day in the quarter. Net income attributable to common shares was $134 million or $0.73 diluted per share against $149 million or $0.80 diluted per share a year ago. Return on average common shareholders equity was 7.21% against 8.27% a year ago. Return on average assets was 0.79% against 0.93% a year ago. Total interest income was $444 million against $441 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $199 million against $221 million a year ago. Total revenues of $682 million were up from $636 million in second quarter of 2014 and topped analyst projections of $674.5 million. For the six months, the company reported net interest income of $834 million against $826 million a year ago. Net income attributable to common shares was $266 million or $1.46 diluted per share against $286 million or $1.54 diluted per share a year ago. Return on average common shareholders' equity was 7.20% against 7.97% a year ago. Return on average assets was 0.78% against 0.90% a year ago. Total interest income was $879 million against $876 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $394 million against $424 million a year ago. For the quarter, the company reported net loan charge-offs of $18 million against $9 million a year ago. For full year 2015, the company expected net interest income relatively stable, assuming no rise in interest rates, reflecting a decrease of about $30 million in purchase accounting accretion, to about $6 million, and the impact of a continuing low rate environment on asset yields, offset by earning asset growth. For the full year 2015, the company expected income tax expense to approximate 32% of pre-tax income.

Comerica Incorporated Announces Executive Changes, Effective July 14, 2015

Comerica Incorporated announced that J. Patrick Faubion, Executive Vice President, has been named head of the banking company's Business Bank, effective July 14, 2015. Faubion, a 31-year veteran of Comerica and its Texas Market President, succeeds Lars C. Anderson, Vice Chairman, who is resigning to pursue other opportunities. Faubion will report to Curtis C. Farmer, President of Comerica Incorporated and Comerica Bank, and will become a member of Comerica's Management Executive Committee. In addition to his new responsibilities, Faubion will maintain his current responsibilities, which include overseeing Comerica's Texas Market, with direct responsibility for General Middle Market banking in Texas and Comerica's Energy business, as well as market activities in Arizona and Florida. Faubion joined Comerica in 1984 and has held various management positions in commercial lending and credit management.
