Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, a diversified financial institution, provides various financial products and services to individuals and small businesses, and commercial, corporate, and institutional clients in Canada and internationally. It operates through three business units: Retail and Business Banking, Wealth Management, and Wholesale Banking. The Retail and Business Banking business unit offers financial advice, banking, investment, and insurance products and services through approximately 1,100 branches, as well as through advisors, ABMs, mobile sales force, telephone banking, and online and mobile banking. The Wealth Management business unit provides asset management, retail brokerage, and private wealth management services to institutional, retail, and high net worth clients through advisors. The Wholesale Banking business unit offers various credit and capital market products, investment banking advisory services, and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate, and retail clients. Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce was founded in 1867 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Reports Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended April 30, 2015

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce announced earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended April 30, 2015. For the quarter, reported net income attributable to diluted common shareholders was CAD 895 million against CAD 292 million a year ago. Adjusted net income attributable to diluted common shareholders was CAD 908 million against CAD 863 million a year ago. Reported diluted EPS was CAD 2.25 against CAD 0.73 a year ago. Adjusted diluted EPS was CAD 2.28 against CAD 2.17 a year ago. Reported return on common shareholders’ equity was 19.9% against 7.0% a year ago. Adjusted return on common shareholders’ equity was 20.2% against 20.6% a year ago. Reported net income was CAD 911 million against CAD 306 million a year ago. Adjusted net income was CAD 924 million against CAD 887 million a year ago. Profits nearly tripled in the second quarter, with its wholesale banking and wealth management divisions leading the way. For the six months, reported net income attributable to diluted common shareholders was CAD 1,802 million against CAD 1,441 million a year ago. Adjusted net income attributable to diluted common shareholders was CAD 1,848 million against CAD 1,786    million a year ago. Reported diluted EPS was CAD 4.53 against CAD 3.61 a year ago. Adjusted diluted EPS was CAD 4.64 against CAD 4.48 a year ago. Reported return on common shareholders’ equity was 19.9% against 17.2% a year ago. Adjusted return on common shareholders’ equity was 20.4% against 21.3% a year ago. Reported net income was CAD 1,834  million against CAD 1,483 million a year ago. Adjusted net income was CAD 1,880 million against CAD 1,838 million a year ago.
