It operates through two segments, Television and Radio. The Television segment operates specialty television networks and conventional television stations; and provides pay television services. It is also involved in the production and distribution of films and television programs; merchandise licensing; children's book publishing; and animation software sale activities. This segment advertises and licenses proprietary films and television programs; sells licenses, customer support, training, and consulting related to the animation software business; and develops, produces, and distributes children’s animated content from Nelvana Studio, as well as to broadcasters and home entertainment companies. Its primary brands include YTV, TELETOON, ABC Spark, W Network, OWN, Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada), HBO Canada, Historia, Séries+, Nelvana, Kids Can Press, and Toon Boom. The Radio segment operates 39 radio stations that offer rock, news-talk, hits, adult contemporary, and country primarily under the CKNW AM 980, 99.3 The FOX, Country 105, 630 CHED, Fresh FM London, JUMP! 106.9, Q107, and 102.1 the Edge brands connecting listeners and communities across the country, on-air, online, and on site. The company has strategic partnership with SoCast Inc. Corus Entertainment Inc. was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

Corus Entertainment Inc. announced a groundbreaking, long-term licensing agreement with the Disney/ABC Television Group that marks a new chapter for kids and family entertainment in Canada. Under the terms of this expansive agreement, Corus secures English- and French-language rights to Disney Channel's world-class content and becomes steward of the brand with the launch of Disney Channel in Canada. Scheduled to debut on September 1, 2015, Disney Channel will give Canadian kids and families full access to Disney Channel's slate of high profile and popular shows such as K.C. Undercover, Girl Meets World, Austin & Ally,Liv and Maddie and many others. The agreement also includes authenticated simultaneous streaming and ad-supported video-on-demand rights for select programs airing on the channel, allowing fans to catch-up on episodes of their favourite series. Following the launch of Disney Channel in the fall, select Disney branded kids linear television offerings will also be rolled out in the future as those brands and programming are transitioned to Corus. This multi-year agreement expands on the relationship between Corus and the Disney/ABC Television Group that began in 2011, when Corus announced the launch of its millennial-targeted service ABC Spark, based on Disney/ABC's hugely successful ABC Family channel in the United States.

For the quarter, the company reported revenues of CAD 191,484,000 compared to CAD 191,413,000 a year ago. Loss before income taxes was CAD 81,216,000 compared to income before income taxes of CAD 15,417,000 a year ago. Net loss attributable to shareholders was CAD 86,786,000 or CAD 0.01 per basic and diluted share compared to net income attributable to shareholders of CAD 6,116,000 or CAD 0.07 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Cash provided by operating activities was CAD 50,783,000 compared to CAD 75,768,000 a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment were CAD 4,931,000 compared to CAD 2,344,000 a year ago. Adjusted net income attributable to shareholders was CAD 28,499,000 or CAD 0.33 per basic share compared to CAD 26,780,000 or CAD 0.32 per basic share a year ago. Free cash flow was CAD 59,242,000 compared to CAD 73,405,000 a year ago. For the six months period, the company reported revenues of CAD 418,595,000 compared to CAD 417,418,000 a year ago. Loss before income taxes was CAD 8,201,000 compared to income before income taxes of CAD 188,939,000 a year ago. Net loss attributable to shareholders was CAD 34,880,000 or CAD 0.41 per basic and diluted share compared to net income attributable to shareholders of CAD 157,007,000 or CAD 1.85 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Cash provided by operating activities was CAD 87,670,000 compared to CAD 127,751,000 a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment were CAD 7,754,000 compared to CAD 4,280,000 a year ago. Adjusted net income attributable to shareholders was CAD 80,405,000 or CAD 0.93 per basic share compared to CAD 81,957,000 or CAD 0.97 per basic share a year ago.
