Cineworld Group plc reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the six months ended July 2, 2015. For the period, the company's revenue was £329.1 million against £268.6 million a year ago. Operating profit was £43.8 million against £19.6 million a year ago. Profit before tax was £46.8 million against £13.9 million a year ago. Profit for the period attributable to equity holders of the company was £36.9 million against £11.8 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were 13.8 pence against 5.1 pence a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities was £51.3 million against £38.2 million a year ago. Acquisition of property, plant and equipment was £40.5 million against £19.5 million a year ago. Adjusted profit before tax was £39.3 million against £22.6 million a year ago. Adjusted profit after tax £31.0 million against £18.6 million a year ago. Adjusted diluted EPS was 11.6 pence against 8.0 pence a year ago. EBITDA was £64.7 million against £45.9 million a year ago.

Cineworld Group Announces Executive Changes

Cineworld Group has appointed in-house counsel Fiona Smith as its new company secretary and general counsel to replace outgoing Richard Ray. Smith was promoted after four years at the company, and will be in charge of a team of around four lawyers based in the UK. Ray had been at the helm of the in-house team for seven years, following Cineworld's initial float advised by Clifford Chance, legacy Lovells and Olswang in 2007. His destination remains unknown. Smith's promotion was announced at the same time as chief financial officer Philip Bowcock's departure after three and a half years at the company. Deputy CEO Israel Greinger took on the additional role on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is announced.
