Cineworld Group plc Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the Full Year Ended January 1, 2015; Recommends Final Dividend, Payable on July 9, 2015

Cineworld Group plc announced consolidated earnings results for the full year ended January 1, 2015. For the year, the company reported revenue of £619.4 million against £406.1 million a year ago. Operating profit was £76.0 million against £37.5 million a year ago. Profit on ordinary activities before tax was £67.3 million against £30.9 million a year ago. Profit for the period attributable to equity holders of the company was £54.5 million or £21.9 diluted per share against £21.0 million or £13.8 diluted per share a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities were £86.1 million against £55.6 million a year ago. Acquisition of property, plant and equipment was £48.1 million against £18.9 million a year ago. Adjusted earnings were £62.2 million against £33.5 million a year ago. Adjusted pro-forma profit after tax was £61.2 million or £24.4 diluted per share against £31.3 million or £18.6 diluted per share a year ago. Net debt increased to £281.9 million at the end of the current year compared to £112.3 million for the prior year. The significant movement was due to the change in finance structure of the enlarged Group. Full-year pretax earnings more than doubled, boosted by its purchase of the theatre business of Poland's Cinema City International last year. The directors of the company are recommending to shareholders for approval a final dividend in respect of the period ended January 1, 2015 of 9.7 pence per share, which taken together with the interim dividend of 3.8 pence per share paid in October 2014 equates to a total dividend in respect of 2014 of 13.5 pence per share (2013: 10.1 pence per share). On this basis, the 2014 dividend of 13.5 pence per share represents an increase of 33.7%. The record date for the dividend is 12 June 2015 and the payment date is July 9, 2015.
