cropenergies ag (CE2) Key Developments

CropEnergies AG Announces Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended May 31, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Full Year of 2015/16

CropEnergies AG announced earnings results for the first quarter ended May 31, 2015. The company was able to significantly improve its earnings situation in the first quarter of the financial year 2015/16 (March 1 - May 31, 2015). Even though revenues decreased slightly to EUR 198 (previous year: EUR 208) million, EBITDA increased significantly to EUR 22 (previous year: EUR 13) million. Operating profit rose to approximately EUR 14 (previous year: EUR 5) million. This corresponds to an operating margin of 7% (previous year: 2%). The main reasons for this encouraging development are the higher bioethanol prices in Europe, lower raw material prices and a cost structure which has improved due to the production pause of the bioethanol plant at Wilton, UK. As a result of the temporary production pause of the plant, bioethanol production in the 1st quarter 2015/16 decreased to 205,000 (previous year: 262,000) cubic meters and restructuring costs and special items of EUR 5 (previous year: EUR 0) million were incurred during the reporting period. Income from operations, as the sum of operating profit, earnings from entities consolidated at equity and restructuring costs and special items, nearly doubled to EUR 9 (previous year: EUR 4) million. For the full financial year 2015/16, the company expects a reduction of revenues in the range of EUR 675 to EUR 725 (previous year: EUR 827) million. Operating profit (before restructuring costs and special items) is expected to range between EUR 10 and EUR 40 (previous year: EUR -11) million.

CropEnergies AG, Q1 2016 Earnings Call, Jul 08, 2015

CropEnergies AG Provides Preliminary Earnings Guidance for the First Quarter of 2016 and updates Earnings Guidance for the Year 2016

CropEnergies AG provided preliminary earnings guidance for the first quarter of 2016. For the quarter, the company maintained revenues slightly below the previous year's level as expected according to preliminary figures. They reached approximately EUR 198 million (in 2014, EUR 208 million). At the same time, operating profit increased significantly to approximately EUR 14 million ((in 2014, EUR 5 million). The main reason for the increase in earnings was the encouraging improvement of bioethanol prices in Europe, lower raw material prices as well as improvements in the cost structure especially due to the pause in production of the plant in Wilton, UK. Outside of the operating profit, restructuring costs of EUR 5 million were incurred. Thus, the EBIT increased to EUR 9 million. The company announced that the good start into the financial year prompts CropEnergies to adjust the outlook for the full financial year 2016. Operating profit (before restructuring costs and special items) is now expected to be in the range of EUR 10 million to EUR 40 million and thus positive for the full financial year 2016. At the same time, the reduction in revenues following the pause in production in the British plant is expected to be less pronounced. The company expects revenues in the range of EUR 675 million to EUR 725 million.
