Celanese Corporation, a technology and specialty materials company, manufactures and sells value-added chemicals, thermoplastic polymers, and other chemical-based products worldwide. The company’s Advanced Engineered Materials segment develops, produces, and supplies specialty polymers for use in automotive, medical, electronics, and other consumer and industrial applications. Its Consumer Specialties segment provides cellulose acetate flakes, films, and tows for use in filter products applications; Sunett, a sweetener for use in various beverages, confections, and dairy products; Qorus, a sweetener system designed for low-to no-calorie carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, flavored waters, energy drinks, and milk and dairy products; and food protection ingredients, such as potassium sorbate and sorbic acids for use in foods, beverages, and personal care products. The company’s Industrial Specialties segment produces emulsions and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) performance polymers. This segment offers vinyl acetate-based emulsions for use in paints and coatings, adhesives, construction, glass fiber, textiles, and paper applications; EVA resins and compounds, as well as low-density polyethylene for use in flexible packaging films, lamination film products, hot melt adhesives, medical products, automotive, and carpeting applications. Its Acetyl Intermediates segment offers acetyl products, including acetic acid, vinyl acetate monomers, acetic anhydride, and acetate esters for use as starting materials for colorants, paints, adhesives, coatings, and pharmaceuticals. The company also provides organic solvents and intermediates for pharmaceutical, agricultural, and chemical products. The company was founded in 1918 and is headquartered in Irving, Texas.

Celanese Corporation announced that its board of directors has approved a 20% increase in the company's quarterly common stock cash dividend. The dividend rate increased from $0.25 to $0.30 per share of common stock on a quarterly basis and from $1.00 to $1.20 per share of common stock on an annual basis. The new dividend rate will be applicable immediately. The company also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.30 per share on its Series A common stock, payable on May 15, 2015. The dividend is payable to stockholders of record as of May 4, 2015.

Celanese Corporation Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

Celanese Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, net sales were $1,450 million against $1,705 million a year ago. Operating profit was $257 million against $243 million a year ago. Earnings from continuing operations before tax were $306 million against $273 million a year ago. Earnings from continuing operations were $234 million or $1.54 per basic and diluted share against $195 million or $1.25 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net earnings were $236 million against $196 million a year ago. Net earnings attributable to the company were $236 million or $1.54 per basic and diluted share against $196 million or $1.25 per basic and diluted share a year ago. The company generated operating cash flow of $270 million and adjusted free cash flow of $181 million in the first quarter, which were both first quarter records, driven by strong earnings. Net capital expenditures were $82 million in the quarter. The company ended the quarter with net debt of $1.8 billion, $155 million lower than at December 31, 2014. Achieved record adjusted earnings of $1.72 per share, up 34% from the prior quarter and 29% from the prior year quarter. The company provided increasing outlook for adjusted earnings to a range of $5.60 to $5.90 per share for 2015.
