Celanese Corporation, a technology and specialty materials company, manufactures and sells value-added chemicals, thermoplastic polymers, and other chemical-based products worldwide. The company’s Advanced Engineered Materials segment develops, produces, and supplies specialty polymers for use in automotive, medical, electronics, and other consumer and industrial applications. Its Consumer Specialties segment provides cellulose acetate flakes, films, and tows for use in filter products applications; Sunett, a sweetener for use in various beverages, confections, and dairy products; Qorus, a sweetener system designed for low-to no-calorie carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, flavored waters, energy drinks, and milk and dairy products; and food protection ingredients, such as potassium sorbate and sorbic acids for use in foods, beverages, and personal care products. The company’s Industrial Specialties segment produces emulsions and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) performance polymers. This segment offers vinyl acetate-based emulsions for use in paints and coatings, adhesives, construction, glass fiber, textiles, and paper applications; EVA resins and compounds, as well as low-density polyethylene for use in flexible packaging films, lamination film products, hot melt adhesives, medical products, automotive, and carpeting applications. Its Acetyl Intermediates segment offers acetyl products, including acetic acid, vinyl acetate monomers, acetic anhydride, and acetate esters for use as starting materials for colorants, paints, adhesives, coatings, and pharmaceuticals. The company also provides organic solvents and intermediates for pharmaceutical, agricultural, and chemical products. The company was founded in 1918 and is headquartered in Irving, Texas.

Celanese Corporation Approves Amendments to Third Amended and Restated By-Laws

On July 21, 2015, Celanese Corporation announced the board, acting upon the recommendation of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of the board, approved amendments to the company's Third Amended and Restated By-laws, effective immediately. Article 1, Section 1.01 of the By-laws has been amended to provide that the name of the company's registered agent, and the address of the company's registered office, in Delaware will be specified in documents filed by the company with the Secretary of State from time to time, and will no longer be specified in the By-laws.

Celanese Corporation Appoints Chris Jensen as Chief Financial Officer

Celanese Corporation announced that Chris Jensen has been named the company's chief financial officer. Jensen has served in the role on an interim basis since May 2014, and has global responsibility for tax, treasury, accounting, SEC reporting and financial shared services.
