It offers various deposit products, such as non-interest-bearing checking, interest-bearing checking, savings, money market deposit, and individual retirement accounts; and certificates of deposit. The company also provides commercial loan products, including owner and non-owner occupied commercial real estate loans; working capital loans and lines of credit; demand, construction, and time loans; and equipment, inventory, and accounts receivable financing. In addition, it offers consumer loan products comprising home equity lines of credit; residential first lien mortgages; second lien mortgages; new and used auto loans; new and used boat loans; overdraft protection; and unsecured personal credit lines. Further, the company provides debit and credit cards; mortgage loans; and wealth management services, including investment accounts that provides access to a wide range of mutual funds, annuities, and other financial products. It operates 162 banking offices in Florida, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The company was formerly known as North American Financial Holdings, Inc. Capital Bank Financial Corp. was incorporated in 2009 and is headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida.

Capital Bank Financial Corp. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, net interest income was $60,685,000 against $60,831,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $20,247,000 against $20,041,000 a year ago. Net income was $12,990,000 against $12,425,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $0.28 against $0.25 a year ago. Tangible book value per share was $19.69 as of June 30, 2015, an increase of $0.20 and $0.84 over March 31, 2015 and June 30, 2014, respectively. Return on average assets was 0.75% against 0.76% a year ago. Return on average shareholders equity was 4.90% against 4.58% a year ago. Core net income was $14.0 million, or $0.30 per diluted share. Pretax and after-tax core net income was $14,033,000. ROA, Core ROA and Core ROA excluding non-single-family fdic indemnification expense, increased to 0.75%, 0.82% and 0.90%, respectively. The company reported that the net charge-offs for the second quarter of 2015 were $1.5 million, up from $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2015.
