Canadian Apartment Properties REIT announced that it has completed the acquisition of a 126-suite mid-tier apartment property in Edmonton, Alberta for a purchase price (excluding transaction costs) of $31.0 million. The purchase of the property was funded from CAPREIT's Acquisition and Operating credit facility. The property, Grandin Tower, is a newly-renovated twelve-storey high rise building located close to Edmonton's downtown core.

Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust announced audited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported operating revenues of $128.111 million compared to $124.018 million a year ago. Net operating income was $76.806 million compared to $66.033 million a year ago period. Net income was $82.759 million against $88.389 million a year ago period. Cash provided by operating activities was $71.016 million against $84.13 million a year ago period. Capital investments were $46.826 million against $55.934 million a year ago. FFO was $45.774 against $35.469 a year ago period. NFFO was $46.62 million or $0.423 per basic share against $36.344 million or $0.338 per basic share a year ago period.
