BancorpSouth, Inc. operates as a financial holding company for BancorpSouth Bank that provides commercial banking and financial services to individuals and small-to-medium size businesses. It offers various deposit products, including interest bearing and noninterest bearing demand deposits, and saving and time deposits. The company’s loan portfolio comprises commercial loans, including term loans, lines of credit, equipment and receivable financing, and agricultural loans; a range of short-to-medium term secured and unsecured commercial loans to businesses for working capital, business expansion, and the purchase of equipment and machinery; and construction loans to real estate developers for the acquisition, development, and construction of residential subdivisions. Its loan products also include fixed and adjustable rate residential mortgage loans secured by owner-occupied property; residential construction loans; second mortgage loans; home equity lines of credit; and non-residential consumer loans that consist of automobile, recreation vehicle, boat, and personal loans, as well as deposit account secured loans. In addition, the company operates as an agent for the sale of title insurance, commercial lines of insurance, and a line of property and casualty, life, health, and employee benefits products and services. Further, it provides investment brokerage services, personal trust and estate services, and employee benefit accounts and plans; and engages in credit card activities. The company offers its services through 305 offices in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Missouri, and Illinois. BancorpSouth, Inc. was founded in 1876 and is headquartered in Tupelo, Mississippi.

BancorpSouth Plans to Add Deborah Cannon to the Board in April 2015; Announces Opening of Loan-Production Offices in Texas

BancorpSouth is planning to add a former Bank of America executive to its board. Deborah Cannon has been the president and chief executive of the Houston Zoo since 2005. Cannon worked at Bank of America for 30 years before stepping down as an executive vice president in 2004. She is expected to join BancorpSouth's board during its annual meeting in April 2015. The addition also strengthens BancorpSouth's ties to Texas, where it has been opening loan-production offices.

BancorpSouth, Inc. Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend Payable on April 1, 2015

At its regular quarterly meeting the Board of Directors of BancorpSouth, Inc. declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.075 per common share. The dividend is payable April 1, 2015 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 16, 2015.
