Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited operates as an engineering and manufacturing company worldwide. The company operates through Power and Industry segments. It provides power generation equipment, such as air preheaters, boilers, control relay panels, electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters, fans, gas turbines, hydro power plant, piping systems, pulverizes, pumps, seamless steel tubes, soot blowers, steam generators, steam turbines, turbo generators, and valves. The company also offers industrial systems and products comprising capacitors, ceralin, compressors, desalination plants, diesel generating sets, industrial motors and alternators, gas turbines, oil field equipment, solar photovoltaics, power semiconductor devices, steel castings and forgings; and transmission products, such as power transformers/reactors, instrument transformers, switchgears control and protection equipment, thyristor equipment, insulators, and bushing products. In addition, it provides products for transportation sector that include electric rolling stocks, electrics for rolling stocks, and electrics for urban transportation systems; and non-conventional energy source products consisting of mini/micro hydro sets, solar lanterns, solar photovoltaics, solar water heating systems, and wind electric generators. Further, the company offers fuel cells, surface coatings, automated storage and retrivals, load sensors, and transparent conducting oxide products for research and development purpose. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited was founded in 1964 and is based in New Delhi, India.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. Appoints D. Bandyopadhyay as Human Resources Director

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. has received a communication dated May 28, 2015, from the Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, informing that the Government has approved the appointment of Shri D. Bandyopadhyay as Director (Human Resources), BHEL for a period of five years from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after August 01, 2015 or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited Commissions 500 MW Thermal Unit at Tuticorin Thermal Power Station in Tamil Nadu

Continuing the commissioning trend in the last quarter of Fiscal Year 2014-15, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has successfully commissioned the second 500 MW unit at Tuticorin Thermal Power Station (TPS). The first 500 MW unit of the project was commissioned by BHEL on March 10, 2015. Tuticorin TPS has been set up by NLC Tamil Nadu Power Limited (NTPL), a joint venture of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) and Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). The project is situated near the Thoothukudi (Tuticorin) port on the shore of the Bay of Bengal. Earlier stages of Tuticorin TPS comprise five units of 210 MW, all installed by BHEL in three phases between 1979 and 1992. The BTG, Civil and BoP order for two 500 MW sets was placed on BHEL by NTPL reflecting the customer's confidence in the company's technological excellence and capabilities in executing such proiects. Recently, BHEL had commissioned second unit of NLC'S 250 MW circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC) based power plant at Neyveli. The other project being executed by BHEL for NLC is the 2x500 MW pulverized lignite fired thermal power plant, also coming up at Neyveli.
