Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited operates as an engineering and manufacturing company worldwide. The company operates through Power and Industry segments. It provides power generation equipment, such as air preheaters, boilers, control relay panels, electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters, fans, gas turbines, hydro power plant, piping systems, pulverizes, pumps, seamless steel tubes, soot blowers, steam generators, steam turbines, turbo generators, and valves. The company also offers industrial systems and products comprising capacitors, ceralin, compressors, desalination plants, diesel generating sets, industrial motors and alternators, gas turbines, oil field equipment, solar photovoltaics, power semiconductor devices, steel castings and forgings; and transmission products, such as power transformers/reactors, instrument transformers, switchgears control and protection equipment, thyristor equipment, insulators, and bushing products. In addition, it provides products for transportation sector that include electric rolling stocks, electrics for rolling stocks, and electrics for urban transportation systems; and non-conventional energy source products consisting of mini/micro hydro sets, solar lanterns, solar photovoltaics, solar water heating systems, and wind electric generators. Further, the company offers fuel cells, surface coatings, automated storage and retrivals, load sensors, and transparent conducting oxide products for research and development purpose. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited was founded in 1964 and is based in New Delhi, India.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. Wins PCP Package Contract from National Thermal Power Corporation for Barh STPP in India

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has won a contract from National Thermal Power Corporation, for the supply and installation of the power cycle piping, or PCP, package for 3x660MW stage-I of Barh Super Thermal Power Project, or STPP, in Bihar, India. The power project is located at Barh in Patna district in the state of Bihar. Valued at INR 3,690 million, BHEL has been awarded this package by NTPC for the revival of the Barh plant and to make it operational, after NTPC terminated the contract of the foreign contractor, who was awarded the contract for the supercritical boiler including Power Cycle Piping in 2005, but which has not yet been completed. HEL's scope in the order includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the complete Power Cycle Piping Package of the project. The design, manufacture and supply of Power Cycle Piping equipment will be taken care of by the Piping Centre and Trichy-Valves Division of BHEL, while the company's Power Sector Eastern Region will be responsible for the erection and commissioning of the Power Cycle Piping.
