Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited operates as an engineering and manufacturing company worldwide. The company operates through Power and Industry segments. It provides power generation equipment, such as air preheaters, boilers, control relay panels, electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters, fans, gas turbines, hydro power plant, piping systems, pulverizes, pumps, seamless steel tubes, soot blowers, steam generators, steam turbines, turbo generators, and valves. The company also offers industrial systems and products comprising capacitors, ceralin, compressors, desalination plants, diesel generating sets, industrial motors and alternators, gas turbines, oil field equipment, solar photovoltaics, power semiconductor devices, steel castings and forgings; and transmission products, such as power transformers/reactors, instrument transformers, switchgears control and protection equipment, thyristor equipment, insulators, and bushing products. In addition, it provides products for transportation sector that include electric rolling stocks, electrics for rolling stocks, and electrics for urban transportation systems; and non-conventional energy source products consisting of mini/micro hydro sets, solar lanterns, solar photovoltaics, solar water heating systems, and wind electric generators. Further, the company offers fuel cells, surface coatings, automated storage and retrivals, load sensors, and transparent conducting oxide products for research and development purpose. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited was founded in 1964 and is based in New Delhi, India.

Tata Power Solar, Lanco Solar Energy, BHEL and Sterling and Wilson Win Contract for Setting Up of 250 MW in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh

NTPC Ltd. declared that it has awarded solar PV project contracts to Tata Power Solar, Lanco Solar Energy, BHEL and Sterling and Wilson for setting up of 250 MW in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. This 250 MW solar PV project is segment of 1,000 MW ultra mega solar PV plant taken up by NTPC close to Kadiri in Anantapur. The plant will come up in a phased manner and the first phase of 250 MW tenders have been finalised. Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd. has won contract for 100 MW, Lanco Solar Energy (50 MW), BHEL (50 MW) and Sterling & Wilson(50 MW).

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. Commissions First Unit at 330MW Shrinagar Hydro Electric Project in Uttarakhand, India

Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel) has commissioned a 82.5MW hydro electricity generating unit at the 330MW Shrinagar Hydro Electric Project (HEP) in Uttarakhand, India. The renewable facility, which is being developed by Alaknanda Hydro Power Corporation (GVK Group), will house three more units with power generation capacity of 82.5MW each. The power plant is being constructed on the Alaknanda River, near the town of Shrinagar in Pauri Garhwal District in the Indian state. It facility will be supported by a dam, which has a height of 90m from deepest foundation level. Bhel will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of the four units at the facility which including Francis turbines, generators, static excitation system, generator transformer, unit transformers and station transformers. The scope of work for the Indian firm will also include supply of main inlet valve, digital governors, control and monitoring system (SCADA), busduct, associated station auxiliaries, 400kV switchyard and electrical and mechanical balance of plant (BOP).

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited Commissions 195 MW Thermal Unit in Bihar

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has successfully commissioned a 195 MW thermal unit in Bihar. This is the first'195 MW unit to be commissioned by the company at the 2x195 MW Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station (TPS) Plant of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL), a joint venture of NTPC Ltd. and BSPGCL, in Bihar. The second 195 MW unit is expected to be commissioned in financial year 2015-16.
