Barratt Developments PLC Announces Executive Changes, Effective 1 July 2015

Barratt Developments PLC announced the appointment of David Thomas, currently Group Finance Director, as Group Chief Executive effective from 1 July 2015. This follows the decision by Mark Clare to step down after nine years as Group Chief Executive to develop his non-executive career. Mark will step down as Chief Executive on 1 July 2015 and from the Board at the end of July. He will remain with the Group until the end of October 2015 to ensure an orderly handover. David joined as an Executive Director and the Group Finance Director on 21 July 2009. He was formerly the Group Finance Director and the Deputy Chief Executive of The GAME Group plc (2004-2009). Before that he was the Group Finance Director at Millennium and Copthorne Hotels plc (1998-2004) and held senior financial roles with House of Fraser plc and Forte plc.

Barratt Developments plc Announces Interim Dividend for the Half Year Ended December 31, 2014, Payable on May 20, 2015; Announces Consolidated Unaudited Earnings Results for the Half Year Ended December 31, 2014; Provides Capital Expenditure for the Fiscal Year 2015 and Tax Rate Guidance for the Fiscal Year 2015 and 2016

The Board of Barratt Developments plc announced an interim dividend of 4.8 pence per share for the half year ended December 31, 2014 compared to 3.2 pence per share a year ago which is the second payment of Capital Return Plan. This dividend, represents one third of the expected dividend for the financial year, based upon the full year dividend being covered three times by consensus earnings. It will be paid on 20 May 2015 to all shareholders on the register on 24 April 2015. The company announced consolidated unaudited earnings results for the half year ended December 31, 2014. For the period, the company reported revenues of £1,576.3 million compared with £1,264.9 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations was £224.1 million compared with £139.5 million for the same period a year ago. Profit before tax was £210.2 million compared with £120.4 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from continuing operations was £167.3 million compared with £92.6 million for the same period a year ago. Profit attributable to equity shareholders of the company was £167.0 million or 16.6 pence per diluted share compared with £92.6 million or 9.2 pence per diluted share for the same period a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was £138.3 million compared with £34.1 million for the same period a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipments was £2.6 million compared with £3.2 million for the same period a year ago. Net debt as at December 31, 2014 was GBP 134.2 million. On guidance, the company expects total cash spend on land for fiscal year 2015 to be around GBP 950 million, of which around GBP 450 million will relate to land creditors at June 14 and the balance will be on new land expenditure. The company expects tax rate to be around 21% for fiscal year 2015, dropping to 20% in fiscal year 2016.
