In addition, the company is involved in designing, building, and maintaining cable and pipeline networks for telecommunications, data, rail, gas, electricity, water/waste water, and heating systems; and designing, constructing, managing, and maintaining traffic infrastructure, ground, sewage and environmental, noise abatement, and area development activities. Further, it engages in the provision of consultancy and engineering services in the areas of advice on quality, lean construction, and building information modeling; and construction of concrete and asphalt roads and civil engineering works. BAM has signed a preliminary agreement with local trade unions on a new social plan that will deal with the consequences of a restructuring programme under which about 650 jobs will be cut. The social plan is running through the end of the year and is primarily aimed at helping employees find another job.
