Arotech Corporation, through its subsidiaries, provides defense and security products in the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Germany, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, and internationally. The company operates in two divisions, Training and Simulation, and Power Systems. The Training and Simulation division develops, manufactures, and markets multimedia and interactive digital solutions for use-of-force training and driving training of military, law enforcement, security, emergency services, and other personnel. This division offers simulators, systems engineering support, and software products for military operations and vehicle driving to the United States military, government, municipalities, and private industry; and specialized use-of-force training simulators and systems for police, security personnel, and the military under the MILO Range trade name. The Power Systems division provides electronics engineering and design, system integration, rapid prototyping, and vertically production services for military, aerospace, and industrial customers, including hybrid power generation systems, smart power subsystems for military vehicles and dismounted applications, and aircraft and missile systems support for cutting edge weapons and communications technologies. This division also develops and sells rechargeable and primary lithium batteries, and smart chargers to the military and medical markets, and to private defense industry under the Epsilor name. In addition, it develops, manufactures, and markets primary zinc-air batteries, rechargeable batteries, and battery chargers for the military; and produces water-activated lifejacket lights for commercial aviation and marine applications under the Electric Fuel name. The company was formerly known as Electric Fuel Corporation and changed its name to Arotech Corporation in September 2003. Arotech Corporation was founded in 1990 and is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Arotech Corporation's Power Systems Division Wins $6.7 Million Production Contract

Arotech Corporation announced that its North American Power System Division, which includes UEC Electronics, has been awarded a $6.7 million task order from the Space and Naval Warfare Center (SPAWAR) Atlantic. The contract awarded is for the manufacture and integration of 12 Communication Emitter Sensing and Attacking System (CESAS) II Platform Integration Kits (PIK). The CESAS is the Marine Corps' only high-power, ground-mobile electronic attack (EA) asset. The CESAS provides Commanders with the capability to detect, deny, and disrupt the communications of their enemy. Arotech expects to complete this production contract in the next 12 months. The government has an option which, if exercised, will result in a second year of support for the program.

Arotech Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company’s revenues were $21,644,225 against $27,829,186 a year ago. The year-over-year decrease was driven, in large part, by unexpected program delays in the Power Systems division and orders that slipped into the second half of 2015 and beyond. Operating loss was $1,663,282 against operating income of $2,329,149 a year ago. Loss before income tax expense was $1,872,627 against income before income tax of $1,962,810 a year ago. Net loss was $2,242,970 or $0.10 per basic and diluted share against net income of $1,782,685 or $0.09 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Adjusted LBITDA was $165,197 against adjusted EBITDA of $3,959,480 a year ago. Adjusted net loss was $1,032,000 or $0.04 per share against adjusted net income of $3,172,000 or $0.15 per share a year ago. For the six months, the company’s revenues were $45,870,933 against $50,211,986 a year ago. The year-over-year decrease was driven, in large part, by unexpected program delays in the Power Systems division and orders that slipped into the second half of 2015 and beyond. Operating loss was $2,490,399 against operating income of $3,628,565 a year ago. Loss before income tax expense was $2,115,923 against income before income tax of $3,175,338 a year ago. Net loss was $2,725,647 or $0.12 per basic and diluted share against net income of $2,796,777 or $0.14 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $1,334,967 against $6,300,805 a year ago. Adjusted net loss was $413,000 or $0.02 per share against adjusted net income of $5,074,000 or $0.25 per share a year ago. For the full year 2015, the company provided guidance for total revenue of $100 to $105 million, with adjusted earnings per share of $0.08 to $0.10 and adjusted EBITDA of $5.0 million to $5.75 million. This outlook includes only organic contribution, and does not take any potential acquisition activity into account. Adjusted EPS is based on the weighted diluted shares outstanding as of June 30, 2015, which was approximately 24 million.
