The company also provides online financial services education programs, including certificate programs, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority securities license training, and continuing education courses; publishes research-based math curricula and adaptive learning software for middle school and high school students; and operates SkilledUp, an online career skills and learning marketplace designed to connect individuals to online learning offerings where they can acquire skills valued by technology companies. In addition, it offers accounting and law programs; recognized and government approved certificates, diplomas, and other qualifications in various disciplines and industries, such as health and wellness, business management and services, and community services; high school and executive education in medical, dental, and communications programs; and postsecondary education for adult learners, including undergraduate and graduate degrees primarily in business, and non-degree programs through distance education and learning in the classroom at campuses. The company was formerly known as Apollo Group, Inc. and changed its name to Apollo Education Group, Inc. in November 2013. Apollo Education Group, Inc. was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.

Swartz, the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Apollo Education Group, Inc. informed the company of his intention to resign from his position effective May 15, 2015. For the quarter, net revenue was $578,572,000 against $672,754,000 a year ago. Operating loss was $54,526,000 against operating income of $10,296,000 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations before income taxes was $56,671,000 against income of $9,019,000 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations was $36,138,000 against $14,149,000 a year ago. Loss attributable to the company was $33,610,000 against $14,605,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share from continuing operations attributable to the company was $0.31 against $0.15 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share from attributable to the company was $0.31 against $0.13 a year ago. Adjusted Apollo Global Operating Loss was $16,808,000 against $17,696,000 a year ago.
