It holds interests in 11.5 million gross acres located in the Permian Basin, the Anadarko basin, the Texas Panhandle, and the Gulf Coast onshore and offshore areas of the United States; 5.4 million gross acres in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan; and 9.8 million gross acres located in Western Desert, Egypt. The company also has interests in 30 exploration permits, 18 production licenses, and 9 retention leases that cover a total area of 7.9 million gross acres located in offshore Western Australia; and approximately 1.2 million gross acres located in the United Kingdom North Sea. As of December 31, 2013, it had total estimated proved reserves of 1,131 million barrels of crude oil, 292 million barrels of natural gas liquids, and 7.3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The company was founded in 1954 and is based in Houston, Texas.

Apache Corporation Announces Management Changes

Apache Corporation announced that Stephen J. Riney will be appointed as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and is expected to commence employment with the company in February 2015. P. Anthony Lannie will cease service as Chief Financial Officer after Mr. Riney commences employment with the company. Mr. Lannie, who served as interim Chief Financial Officer, will continue to serve as the company’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to his appointment as Apache’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Riney, 54, served as the chief financial officer for BP exploration and production and oversaw all accounting, business development, planning and commercial operations for the upstream segment.

Apache Corporation Announces Management Changes

G. Steven Farris, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Apache Corporation has announced his retirement effective January 20, 2015. Mr. Farris will continue as non-executive chairman of the board until May 1, 2015, at which time he will retire from the board. John J. Christmann, IV, Apache's executive vice president and chief operating officer North America, will succeed Mr. Farris as president and chief executive officer and will join Apache's board effective January 20, 2015. Director John Lowe, 54, has been elected to succeed Farris as non-executive chairman. In February 2014, Mr. Farris also assumed the title of president. He served the company as president and chief operating officer from 1994 to 2009, as senior vice president from 1991 to 1994 and as vice president – exploration and production from 1998 to 1991. Mr. Christmann has been with Apache for 18 years and has served in a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer – North America, where he has been focused on aligning the right people, acreage and strategy to ensure Apache's future growth and success in North America. Mr. Lowe has been a member of Apache's board since 2013.

Apache Corp. to Lay Off About 250 Workers This Week

Apache Corp. is laying off about 250 workers this week. The workforce reduction reportedly amounts to about 5% of the company's staff and is one of the first by an American oil producer amid the fall in crude oil prices.
