Alstom SA designs, supplies, and services various rail transport products and systems in France and internationally. It offers trains, such as metros, tramways, tram-trains, LRVs, suburban trains, regional trains, high-speed trains, passenger locomotives, and freight locomotives; and signaling products, including rail control systems, security and control, trackside, and interlocking products. The company also designs and installs solutions for track laying; electrification of and power supply to lines; and supplies electromechanical equipment. In addition, it provides urban and min-line rail systems to manage trains, signaling, infrastructure, and services; and maintenance, modernization, parts and repair, and support services. Further, the company offers various components comprising bogies, motors, traction systems, switchgear, auxiliary converters, traction transformers, cariboni feeding systems, and dispen dampers. It serves urban transit, regional/intercity passenger travel, and freight markets. Alstom SA was incorporated in 1992 and is headquartered in Levallois-Perret, France.

Gulf Power Generation Company Extends Alstom’s Service Contract for Kaeng Khoi II Plant in Thailand

Gulf Power Generation Company has extended two contracts with Alstom for the Kaeng Khoi II combined-cycle natural gas power plant located in Thailand. The deal covers previous long term service agreement and long term parts agreement. Under the agreements, Alstom will oversee the service and maintenance as well as provide new parts, reconditioning services and field service for planned outages for existing gas turbines, steam turbines and generators at the power plant until 2033.

Alstom SA to Extend the Constantine Area Tramway by 10 Kilometres

Alstom announced that it will extend the Constantine area Tramway by 10 kilometres. Alstom`s share of the contract, awarded by EMA (Entreprise Metro d`Alger, Algeria`s public transport operator), amounts to around EUR 80 million. The completion of the extension is scheduled for 3 years from now. Alstom will supply the integrated system, tracks, catenaries, telecommunications and signalling, substations and ticketing equipment. The extension will link the existing station of Zouaghi with the new city of Ali Mendjeli and with the Mohamed Boudiaf airport. The extended line, which will span 18 kilometres in total once work is completed, will be equipped with the first Citadis trams manufactured at the Annaba site (in the north-east of Algeria) by Cital.

Alstom Signs Two Contracts with Norte Energia to Provide Equipment to Belo Monte Hydroelectric Complex

Alstom concluded two contracts with Norte Energia to provide equipment to the Belo Monte hydroelectric complex, located at Xingu River, in Brazil's northern Para state. The first one, awarded to the company and other companies through ELM Consortium covers the supply of a new turbine and two generators to the hydroelectric site. The second contract will be carried out by an Alstom-led consortium with Bardella for the supply of hydro mechanical equipment. The total amount of the second contract is 14 million, with an Alstom's share of 4.3 million. The full scope of the project includes 10 provisional stop logs for Pimental's water intake and 18 provisional stop logs for Belo Monte's draft tube. The delivery is scheduled to be completed in November 2016.
