The company’s products include ANSYS Workbench, a framework upon which the company’s engineering simulation technologies are built; ANSYS Engineering Knowledge Manager, a solution for simulation-based process and data management challenges; and high-performance computing product suite delivering cross-physics parallel processing capabilities for the company’s simulation software. It also offers geometry handling solutions for engineering simulation; meshing technology that transforms a physical model into a mathematical model; structures analysis product suite, which offers simulation tools for product design and optimization; explicit dynamics product suite that simulates physical events; and composite analysis and optimization technology. In addition, the company provides fluids products that provide modeling of fluid flow and other related physical phenomena; electronics products, which provide field simulation software for designing electronic and electromechanical products; and power analysis and optimization software. Further, it offers system simulation capability, a collaborative environment that leverages multiphysics, multibody dynamics, circuit, and embedded software simulation capabilities; multiphysics product suite, which creates virtual prototypes of designs; SCADE, a solution for embedded software simulation and code production; 3-D direct modeling technology that provides a CAD-neutral environment; and academic product suite with a portfolio of academic products based on associate, research, and teaching. The company was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

Brush Group Optimizes Turbogenerator Design With ANSYS Multiphysics Solutions

The Brush Group announced it is boosting performance of its generators for gas, steam and hydro-turbine drive applications by leveraging ANSYS multiphysics engineering simulation solutions. The use of ANSYS® solutions is also leading to time and cost savings. The Brush Group chose ANSYS simulation to reduce the six-month lead time for new design generator manufacturing and to reduce the extensive costs and complexity of design modifications.

UMCCertifies ANSYS's Power Integrity and Electromigration Solutions for 28 Nanometer and 40 Nanometer Technologies

ANSYS have been certified by UMC 28 and 40-nanometer (nm) technologies. UMC's certification of ANSYS®RedHawk™ and ANSYS Totem™ includes static and dynamic voltage drop analysis and signal and power EM verification with accuracy correlation and circuit resistance validation for poly-SiON, High-K/Metal Gate (HKMG) and mixed-signal RFCMOS technologies as per UMC's requirements. These process technologies are typically used for designing chips serving mobile, computing, IoT, automotive and other applications.

ANSYS Announces Launch of ANSYS® 16.1 and ANSYS® Enterprise Cloud™

ANSYS customers can now deploy consistent enterprise-specific simulation workflows and data to more engineers, regardless of geographic location or business unit with launch of ANSYS® 16.1 and ANSYS® Enterprise Cloud™. The new solution, running on Amazon Web Services (AWS), simplifies and accelerates the transition to cloud-based simulation by providing a reference architecture for end-to-end simulation that can be deployed within days – minimizing risk while boosting productivity. Customers who adopt the ANSYS Enterprise Cloud can scale their simulation capacity – including infrastructure and software assets – on demand, in response to changing business requirements, optimizing efficiency and cost while responding to the growing demand for wider use of the technology. The ANSYS Enterprise Cloud has been carefully architected to remove previous barriers to adoption of cloud computing for engineering simulation. Delivered in a single-tenant environment that secures customer data, the solution supports 3-D interactive graphics workloads and auto-scaling high-performance computing (HPC), so results don't need to move between end users and the cloud datacenter. In addition to the cloud offering, ANSYS 16.1 delivers advancements in the area of parametric optimization.  Genetic aggregation, in ANSYS DesignXplorer™, automates the selection of best response surface algorithm.  The result is a highly accurate response surface, created automatically and in a fraction of the time versus other optimization solutions. That enables users to realize their most innovative designs quickly and with confidence. With the new release, ANSYS AIM™ continues to redefine how multiphysics simulation is performed in a single user environment. AIM, a next-generation simulation environment, extends the value of simulation beyond single engineering disciplines by providing a full array of physics in a unified, immersive user environment readily deployable across the organization. This release delivers several productivity innovations and supports kinematic joints for assemblies in motion. The latest release of ANSYS Redhawk™ is optimized to solve the challenges inherent in 10-nanometer and smaller integrated circuit (IC) design challenges, including higher current density and increased reliability challenges such as electromigration failures. ANSYS 16.1 also introduces distributed machine processing, which enables simulation of IC designs that can be solved fast on hardware found in typical clusters and servers.
