analog devices inc (ANL) Key Developments

Analog Devices Introduces Ultralow Power Buck Regulator

Analog Devices, Inc. has introduced an ultralow power buck regulator that extends battery life in portable devices. With a 90% efficiency rating and consuming only 180-nA quiescent current, the ADP5301 buck regulator is designed to deliver maximum power for a longer period of time than previously achievable and is ideally suited for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, including wireless sensor networks and wearable devices such as fitness bands and smartwatches. The new device is housed in a tiny WLCSP package that measures less than 3.1-mm2, which makes it suitable for small form factors. The key features of ADP5301 Ultralow Power Buck Regulator include: 90% power conversion efficiency in ultralight load with 180-nA quiescent current boosts battery life; 6.5-V to 2.05-V input voltage range enables wide range of battery sources or architectures. The ADP5301 Ultralow Power Buck Regulator is selectable, low-noise forced PWM mode with low output voltage ripple powers noise-sensitive analog load up to 500-mA output current capability and integrated voltage supervisory function increases overall system reliability.

Analog Devices Unveils New Series of Amplifiers

Analog Devices, Inc. has unveiled a new series of high-voltage, low-noise, zero-drift, precision operational amplifiers that reportedly reduce system noise, cost, board space, and development time by providing on-chip electro-magnetic interference, or EMI, filtering and eliminating the need for calibration circuitry. The dual-channel ADA4522-2 op amp operates within a supply voltage range of 4.5 V to 55 V and exhibits noise performance that is at least 35% better than its closest competitor. The new device provides the ease-of-use of a precision op amp with the ultra-low offset and drift of a zero-drift op amp. The ADA4522-2 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including current sensing in electronic loads, power supplies and motor control and offset correction in composite amplifiers used in instrumentation and other applications. ADA4522-2 Zero-Drift Op Amp Key Features: low noise: 5.8 nV/Hz @ 1 kHz typ; low offset: 5 uV max @ 25 C; low offset voltage drift: 22 nV/C max; wide bandwidth: 2.7-MHz GPB; operates from supply voltages of 4.5 V to 55 V; high chopping frequency: 1.5 MHz for wider closed loop bandwidth and easy filtering and inputs sense Vee and rail-to-rail output.
