Amazon and CBS Corporation announced a new multi-year, multi-series agreement to make Prime Video the exclusive subscription streaming home for three new CBS summer series through 2018. The first new CBS series included in this deal will be next summer's highly anticipated comic-thriller BrainDead, which Prime members in the U.S. will be able to stream just four days after broadcast at no additional charge to their membership.

Amazon to Open Corporate Office in Detroit in Early 2016

Amazon plans to open a corporate office in Detroit in early 2016. The company says it has hundreds of Michigan employees and announced it wants the downtown office to be a technology hub. Amazon says the office will mean more full-time technology-focused jobs, but the company didn't say how many jobs it would add. The office will house workers with roles including software development, engineering and advertising sales.

Amazon Launches Video Services, New Devices in Japan

Amazon announced that it was launching its streaming video service in Japan along with its Fire TV devices. Amazon is moving into video in Japan with the same formula it has used in the United States, Britain, Germany and Austria, with a wide range of programs offered to its Prime members, who pay an annual fee. Amazon will also sell its Fire TV streaming media box and Fire TV Stick to make it easier to stream video. The devices may also be used to stream programs from rival services such as Hulu and Netflix. And Amazon videos may be streamed from devices made by other manufacturers including Apple's iPads and iPhones, Android phones and tablets and Sony PlayStation consoles.
