Alstom Receives EUR 50 Million Contract from China National Electric Engineering

Alstom has received a contract worth about EUR 50 million from China National Electric Engineering Co. Ltd., or CNEEC, to provide electro-mechanical equipment and technical services for Zungeru Hydropower Project, Nigeria's hydropower plant under construction. According to the contract, Alstom will provide four 175 MW Francis turbine-generator sets and related equipment for this project. Alstom Hydro China (AHC) is responsible for the equipment design, manufacturing, supervision to the installation, commissioning, testing as well as site services.

Alstom Announces Activation of Interlocking System at Bari Parco Nord

Alstom SA has announced the activation of a new remotely controllable computer-based interlocking system, which was produced for Rete Ferroviaria Italiana at Bari Parco Nord. The EUR 7.6 million project involved replacing the previous electromechanical system with Alstom's latest-generation of Smartlock 400 GP system, and other related works such as: the installation of electrical power supply, telecommunications, air conditioning, fire alarm and extinguishing and access protection equipment. The system will allow the operator to manage rail traffic safely in accordance with the most recent standards and regulations. This product has been developed by Alstom's railway signalling centre of excellence in Bologna and its railway signalling R&D centre in Bari.

Alstom to Provide Automation Solutions for DONG Energy's Wind Farms

Alstom has received substation automation contracts for three of DONG Energy's offshore wind farms. The systems will be fitted at the Race Bank project off the Norfolk Coast, the Walney Extension in the Irish Sea and at the Burbo Bank Extension in Liverpool Bay. All three projects are currently at various stages of development. All projects will feature Alstom Grid's DS Agile, the company's next generation digital control system for smart substations. DS Agile's advanced situational awareness features coupled with MiCOM P40 Agile protection range will allow the customer to protect, monitor and control their assets. The DS Agile user-friendly operator interface gives access to key data through interactive dashboards, allowing efficient supervision of the health and performance of the equipment. Alstom is offering DONG Energy a substation automation solution that will help them manage intermittent power flows in a flexible manner. With increasingly interconnected grids and electricity provided from various sources, Alstom's leading edge substation automation system will help to better, and efficiently, bring the power to shore and into the local grid.
