Alfa Laval AB (publ) is engaged in the research, development, and supply of heat transfer, separation, and fluid handling products and solutions for use in various industries worldwide. The company’s heat transfer solutions include air, all welded, brazed, electrical, fusion bonded, plate, gasketed plate, scraped-surface, shell-and-tube, and spiral heat exchangers, as well as boilers, burners, desalination products, evaporators, gas combustion units, thermal fluid heaters, and waste heat recovery products that optimize energy use for heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation, evaporation, and condensation. Its separation solutions consist of decanter centrifuges, filters and strainers, membrane filtration systems, and separators that are used to separate liquids from other liquids, solid particles from liquids, and particles and liquids from gases. The company’s fluid handling systems comprise ballast water treatment products, condensers, deodorizers, pumps, tank cleaning equipment, tank equipment, tap water systems, tubes and fittings, and valves that are used for the transportation and regulation of fluids. Its products are used in beverages, biofuels, biotech and pharmaceutical, chemicals, crude oil refinery, dairy, engine and transport, fluid power, food, HVAC, industrial fermentation, latex, machinery, marine, metal working, mining and mineral processing, oil and gas, power, pulp and paper, refrigeration and cooling, semiconductor systems, steel and coke oven gas, sugar, and wastewater treatment industries. The company was formerly known as AB Separator and changed its name to Alfa Laval AB (publ) in 1963. Alfa Laval AB (publ) was founded in 1883 and is headquartered in Lund, Sweden.

Alfa Laval Wins SEK 70 Million Order for Air Cooler Systems by US Natural Gas Plant

Alfa Laval announced an order to supply air cooler systems to a natural gas plant in the US. This order, valued at approximately SEK 70 million, will be booked by the company in its Energy & Process segment, with delivery scheduled for 2015 and 2016. The air cooler systems will be used to cool the main process streams at the natural gas plant.

Alfa Laval Group to Close Manufacturing Operations of LHE Brand in Qingdao, China

Alfa Laval Group announced that LHE within the Alfa Laval Group, will initiate structural changes to secure long-term competitiveness. The company announced this initiative is a part of the savings programme announced by Alfa Laval in October 2014. LHE intends to close its Chinese manufacturing operations and move the production of heat exchangers from Qingdao to its existing site in Busan, South Korea. The plan is to close the site in Qingdao by end of April 2015, with the change affecting about 40 employees. LHE will actively work to minimise the negative impact for the affected employees, which will be carried out in line with the legal requirements in China. Only LHE's manufacturing in Qingdao is affected by this initiative, the rest of Alfa Laval's production in Qingdao remains unchanged.

Alfa Laval Wins SEK 115 Million Offshore Pumping Systems Order

Alfa Laval ­has won an order to supply Framo pumping systems for an FSO project in Norway. The order booked in the Marine & Offshore Pumping Systems segment, has a value of approximately SEK 115 million and delivery is scheduled for 2016. The order comprises crude offloading and fire water pumping systems for an FSO (Floating Storage and Offloading vessel). Once completed, the FSO will be moored in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
