anite plc (AIE) Key Developments

Anite and Technology Laboratory CTTL-Terminals Collaborate to Accelerate LTE and LTE-Advanced MIMO OTA Testing

Anite announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Telecommunication Technology Labs - terminals (CTTL-Terminals). The collaboration will make use of Anite's Propsim channel emulators for advanced MIMO OTA testing to help device manufacturers and mobile operators verify the actual performance of future mobile devices. In MIMO OTA testing, a channel emulator creates realistic RF conditions within an anechoic or a reverberation chamber where the MIMO capable device is tested without any connected cables. The development of MIMO OTA systems will also help Chinese operators in their device selection process by enabling efficient benchmarking of MIMO capable products, further enhancing end-user experience. CTTL-Terminals will benefit from Anite's future-proof Propsim F32 channel emulator which offers more than twice the emulation capacity compared to other products on the market. This makes it a cost-effective, integrated test solution for verifying the actual performance of Carrier Aggregation capable LTE-Advanced devices. Anite's channel emulators are already compliant with CTIA, CCSA, 3GPP and major mobile operator acceptance test plans. Under this agreement the parties will collaborate to develop MIMO OTA methodologies for Carrier Aggregation MIMO OTA, 3D MIMO OTA testing, virtual drive MIMO OTA testing, MIMO OTA with multi-cell handover and interference, as well as device-to-device testing.

Anite plc Introduces Virtual Drive Testing Toolset for Real-World Automated Performance Testing in the Lab

Anite plc announced that it has launched Virtual Drive Testing Toolset, an automated, lab-based performance and interoperability test solution for cost-effective assessment of mobile devices and network infrastructure. The innovative solution bridges the gap between lab and field testing through seamless real-world representation of the network environment in the lab, significantly reducing testing time and cost as well as accelerating product availability. Anite's virtual drive test solution uses data captured in the field to build tests that replay drive or indoor test routes by emulating real-world RF network conditions in a controlled laboratory environment. Users are thereby able to cost-effectively verify device and infrastructure performance. Anite has used its recognised expertise in channel emulation, wireless performance testing and network measurement together with its market leading Propsim F32 channel emulator, Anite 9000 network simulator and Nemo drive test tools to create Virtual Drive Testing Toolset. This unique approach offers users a complete end-to-end solution revolutionising the testing of mobile devices and network infrastructure with quicker set-up times and more accurate results. Its powerful script and device automation capability allows virtual field test routes to be repeated for different use case scenarios, enabling reliable and cost-effective device benchmarking and field issue resolution. The solution's ready-to-run test case packages further help to improve product performance and trouble-shoot interoperability issues. Virtual Drive Testing Toolset uniquely allows users to either utilise real network infrastructure or deploy a simulated network through integrating the Anite 9000. The solution enables mobile operators as well as device, chipset and network equipment manufacturers to control the device under test from a single, easy to use graphical user interface, conducting real-time diagnostics monitoring, logging test results and analysing test data.

Anite Announces Availability of New Features and Support for Video and SMS over LTE Testing for its Nemo Outdoor Drive Test

Anite announced the availability of new forcing features and support for Video and SMS over LTE testing for its Nemo Outdoor drive test, Nemo Handy handheld and Nemo Walker Air, in-building benchmarking tool range. The newly launched forcing features enable operators to use devices equipped with Qualcomm's chipset for advanced engineering tasks. The features include band locking, GSM frequency locks, WCDMA carrier/scrambling code locks, and PCI locks in LTE - all without reboot and available with the highly anticipated Samsung Note 4. With these locking features, specific cells in mobile networks can be tested without automatically switching to neighboring base stations. This enables more accurate testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of the mobile networks, improving the network and the usability of mobile services. IR.94 is the GSMA/3GPP association's IMS Profile for Conversational Video Service, i.e. video call over packet switched data. This new service can now be measured in drive testing and in in-building measurements using Nemo tools. IR.92 is the GSMA IMS Profile for Voice and SMS, detailing how SMS is sent over 4G/LTE.
