American Eagle Outfitters Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended August 1, 2015. For the quarter, total net revenue was $797,428,000 against $710,595,000 a year ago. Operating income was $53,139,000 against $12,047,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $50,902,000 against $12,897,000 a year ago. Net income was $33,265,000 against $5,813,000 a year ago. Net income per basic and diluted share was $0.17 against $0.03 a year ago. Consolidated comparable sales increased 11%, compared to a 7% decrease last year. Capital expenditures totaled $37 million for the quarter. For the six months, total net revenue was $1,496,948,000 against $1,356,724,000 a year ago. Operating income was $95,132,000 against $20,472,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $98,865,000 against $22,008,000 a year ago. Net income was $62,318,000 against $9,679,000 a year ago. Net income per basic and diluted share was $0.32 against $0.05 a year ago. The company reported that its capital expenditures totaled to $79 million. For the third quarter ending in November 2015, the company expects its per-share earnings to range from 28 cents to 31 cents. For the full year of 2016, the company expects CapEx to be approximately $150 million, which includes the chain-wide roll-out of the point of sale system, supporting technologies and the completion of new fulfillment center, as well as new and remodeled store investments.
