Archer-Daniels-Midland Company procures, transports, stores, processes, and merchandises agricultural commodities and products. The company’s Oilseeds Processing segment originates, merchandises, crushes, and processes soybeans and soft seeds into vegetable oils and protein meals. It offers ingredients for the food, feed, energy, and industrial products industries; crude vegetable and salad oils; refined oils; oilseed protein meals; natural health and nutrition products, and other specialty food and feed ingredients; and cottonseed flour and cotton cellulose pulp. This segment is also involved in edible oils refining, sugar milling and refining, and grains processing activities; and the provision of biodiesel and fertilizers, specialty fats, and oleo chemicals, as well as supplies peanuts and tree nuts, and agricultural commodity raw materials. Its Corn Processing segment provides sweeteners, starch, syrup, glucose, and dextrose; alcohol, amino acids, and other specialty food and animal feed ingredients; ethyl alcohol; corn gluten feed and meals, and distillers’ grains; citric acid, lactates, sorbitol, xanthan gum, and glycols; and propylene and ethylene glycol. The company’s Agricultural Services segment buys, stores, cleans, and transports agricultural commodities, such as oilseeds, corn, wheat, milo, oats, rice, and barley; and resells those commodities as food and feed ingredients, and raw materials; originates and processes wheat into wheat flour; processes and distributes formula feeds, and animal health and nutrition products; and procures, processes, and distributes edible beans. Its Wild Flavors and Specialty Ingredients segment offers flavors, colors, sweeteners, and health ingredients; and nuts, fruits, seeds, legumes, and grains. The company is also involved in futures commission merchant activities; and offers broker services and insurance. Archer-Daniels-Midland Company was founded in 1898 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Archer-Daniels-Midland Company Announces Appointments in Corn Business Unit

Archer Daniels Midland Company announced five management appointments in its Corn business unit. Craig Willis, a 23-year company veteran, has been named president, Ethanol. He had been a vice president of the business since 2011. Kris Lutt has been named president, Sweeteners and Starches. Lutt most recently served as president of ADM’s Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts subsidiary, where he oversaw the expansion of the business’ geographic footprint into South Africa and grew its product offerings through the acquisition of the Harrell Nut Company. Lutt previously served as president of ADM’s Milling business and as vice president, Corn Processing. Gary Towne will continue to serve as president, Risk Management, for the Corn business unit. Towne’s global management experience and exceptional command of market dynamics will enable him to continue making valuable contributions to the business unit. Luther Pohlmann has been named vice president, Corn Operations. Pohlmann’s success managing some of the company’s large corn processing plants will enable him to continue driving adoption of best practices designed to reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency. He has also been actively involved in the company’s plans to expand operations into new geographic regions. He succeeds Randy Kampfe, who will retire March 31 following 40 years of service. Andy Moore, who joined ADM in 1998, has been named vice president, Sweeteners and Starches. In his most recent position as director of sales for the business, Moore played a key role in ADM’s customer-excellence efforts by developing and helping to implement the business’ go-to-market strategy and strengthen its customer relationship management practices. He will continue in his sales role while working closely with Lutt to drive overall growth in the business.

Archer Daniels Midland Company Announces Availability of VivaWweet Sucralose

Archer Daniels Midland Company announced the availability of VivaSweet sucralose, a zero-calorie sweetener, for the food ingredient market. VivaSweet blends well with other sweeteners and can be used for a variety of beverage, baking and dairy applications, among others. Furthermore, because of its stability under heat and over a broad range of pH conditions, VivaSweet is suitable for use in demanding food and beverage applications. VivaSweet offers ease of use in formulation and processing across a variety of applications and rounds out a robust portfolio of alternative sweetener products offered by ADM.
