Ackermans & van Haaren NV engages in the marine engineering and infrastructure, private banking, real estate, leisure and senior care, energy and resources, and development capital businesses. The company’s Marine Engineering & Infrastructure segment is involved in dredging and civil marine engineering, and offshore activities in the areas of renewable energy, oil and gas, soil and sludge remediation, and aggregate and mineral mining; contracting, real estate development, and public-private partnerships, and concessions; and construction and management of pipelines for the transport of industrial gases and products for the petrochemical industry, as well as develops greenfield port projects and port-linked industrial zones. Its Private Banking segment offers asset management and general financial advice for various private clients; advisory banking services for entrepreneurs and the liberal professions; and marine and industrial insurance policies. The company’s Real Estate, Leisure & Senior Care segment develops residential and mixed projects; and operates holiday residences and golf courses. It also provides accommodation and care services for the elderly people. Its Energy and Resources segment produces crude palm oil and rubber, and cement; exploits and produces aggregates for the construction of roads, road surfacing, airfields, racing circuits, and buildings, as well as for the production of ready-made concrete; and implements projects in the area of renewable energy based on biomass, as well as provides complex steel structures for the crane and automotive industries. The company’s Development Capital segment offers development capital to various companies operating in the real estate development, print and digital newspaper, retail, industrial automation, audiovisual technical services, commercial restaurant, multidisciplinary service, commodity trading, and IT businesses. Ackermans & van Haaren NV was founded in 1876 and is based in Antwerp, Belgium.
