Sabmiller Reportedly Rejected Informal Offer From AB Inbev

SABMiller plc (LSE:SAB) rejected an informal takeover offer from Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (ENXTBR:ABI) of £66.4 billion as SABMiller considers it to be low, according to people familiar with the matter. As per sources, SABMiller has communicated the terms at which it would be willing to negotiate after the rejection.

HSBC Reportedly Looking To Finance SABMiller And InBev Merger

HSBC is pitching to finance the possible takeover of SABMiller plc (LSE:SAB) by Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (ENXTBR:ABI). The full line-up of lending banks, which will collectively provide roughly $70 billion of funding for InBev, has not yet been determined, Sky News reported citing sources. Sources said that Barclays was also attempting to play a part in financing the deal. A formal offer for SAB Miller is expected to be made by InBev next week, and will value at more than $100 billion. HSBC declined to comment.
