Anglo American Seeking To Sell Assets

Anglo American plc (LSE:AAL) seeking to sell half its Australian coal production, mainly in Queensland. Anglo American will conduct a sales process for more than half its Australian coal production, mainly in Queensland, after a global review designed to find assets that were not making a big enough contribution. Anglo American announced that it would sell its stakes in the Dawson mine near Moura and Foxleigh mine near in Middlemount, besides its Callide mine, also in Queensland, and the mothballed Dartbrook mine in NSW. "The reason we're pruning back the size of the portfolio there are a number of assets that aren't making a contribution," Mark Cutifani, Chief Executive of Anglo American, said on February 13, 2015. The sales process will start this half.

Anglo American plc Recommends Final Dividend for the Year Ended Dec. 31, 2014

Consistent with the policy, the Board of Anglo American plc has recommended to maintain the final dividend of 53 US cents per share, giving a total dividend of 85 US cents per share for the year (2013: 85 US cents per share), subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 23 April 2015.
