The company is also involved in the provision, installation, and maintenance of shallow geothermal energy utilization systems; property investment and development activities; and securities investment and trading activities. Further, it offers property management and technical support services, as well as technical know-how holding services. The company was formerly known as China Ground Source Energy Limited and changed its name to China Ground Source Energy Industry Group Limited in June 2013. China Ground Source Energy Industry Group Limited was incorporated in 1999 and is headquartered in Central, Hong Kong.

China Ground Source Energy Industry Group Limited reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported total revenue of HKD 64,304,000 against HKD 101,012,000 for the same period a year ago. The decrease in revenue was mainly attributable to the fact that, the group explored the market in districts other than Beijing which required more time for the discussion of the corporation, so that the revenue and work done was slow down as compared with last year. Loss attributable to owners of the company was HKD 2,533,000 against profit of HKD 19,536,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations was HKD 24,844,000 against HKD 43,145,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit before tax was HKD 5,301,000 against HKD 34,554,000 for the same period a year ago. Loss per diluted share was 0.087 cents against earnings per diluted share of 0.669 cents a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported total revenue of HKD 200,581,000 against HKD 234,794,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the company was HKD 270,000 against HKD 48,668,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations was HKD 80,636,000 against HKD 44,933,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit before tax was HKD 25,140,000 against HKD 81,681,000 for the same period a year ago. Earnings per diluted share were 0.009 cents against 1.668 cents a year ago.

The board of directors of China Ground Source Energy Industry Group Limited informed the shareholders of the company and potential investors that it is expected to record a significant decrease in net profit of the unaudited third quarterly results of the company and its subsidiaries for the nine months ended 30 September 2014 as compared with the net profit for the corresponding period last year. Such decrease in net profit was mainly attributable to the decrease in gross profit margin and the increase in finance costs caused by the increase in interest expense on bank loans.
