Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., through its subsidiaries, owns and operates portfolio of regulated and non-regulated generation, distribution, and transmission utility assets in North America. The company generates and sells electrical energy through a portfolio of non-regulated renewable and clean energy power generation facilities. It owns or has interests in hydroelectric facilities with a combined generating capacity of approximately 120 megawatts (MW); wind powered generating facilities with a combined generating capacity of 675 MW; and solar energy facilities with a generating capacity of 10 MW, as well as interests in thermal energy facilities with an installed generating capacity of approximately 335 MW. The company also owns and operates electricity, natural gas, water distribution, and wastewater collection utility systems to approximately 488,000 connections. It serves approximately 93,000 electric connections; 292,000 natural gas connections; and 103,000 regulated water distribution and wastewater collection connections in the states of California, New Hampshire, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Missouri, Arizona, Arkansas, and Texas. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Oakville, Canada.

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. Declares Third Quarter 2015 Dividends on Common Shares and Preferred Share Series A and Series D Payable on September 30, 2015

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. announced that the Board of Directors of APUC has declared a dividend of USD 0.09625 per share on its common shares, payable on October 15, 2015 to the shareholders of record on September 30, 2015 for the period from July 1, 2015 to September 30, 2015. The common share dividend will be paid in cash or, if a shareholder has enrolled in the shareholder dividend reinvestment plan, dividends will be reinvested in additional shares of APUC as per the Plan, based on equivalent Canadian funds. Plan Shares will be acquired by way of a Treasury Purchase at the average market price as defined in the Plan less a 5% discount for the third quarter of 2015. Additionally, the Board has declared the following preferred share dividends: CAD 0.28125 per Preferred Share, Series A, payable in cash on September 30, 2015 to Preferred Share, Series A holders of record on September 15, 2015 for the period from June 30, 2015 to, but excluding, September 30, 2015. CAD 0.3125 per Preferred Share, Series D, payable in cash on September 30, 2015 to Preferred Share, Series D holders of record on September 15, 2015 for the period from June 30, 2015 to, but excluding, September 30, 2015.

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. Reports Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2015

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the second quarter of 2015, revenue was $196.2 million compared to $188.6 million in the second quarter of 2014. The increase in revenue is primarily the result of the start of commercial operations at the St. Damase and Morse Wind Facilities and the Bakersfield I Solar Facility, the impact of successful rate case settlements, and the stronger U.S. dollar. The company reported net earnings from continuing operations attributable to shareholders of $20.6 million or $0.07 per common share in the second quarter of 2015 compared to $15.2 million or $0.06 per common share in the second quarter of 2014. Adjusted net earnings attributable to shareholders was $22.2 million or $0.08 per common share in the second quarter of 2015 compared to $16.6 million or $0.07 per common share in the second quarter of 2014. Adjusted EBITDA was $81.1 million compared to $66.4 million in the second quarter of 2014. The increase was primarily due to the impact of rate case settlements, a full quarter of production at the Morse Wind Facility and Bakersfield I Solar Facility, and the stronger U.S. dollar. For the first six months of 2015, the company generated revenue of $578.0 million as compared to $530.7 million in the first six months of 2014. The company reported net earnings from continuing operations attributable to shareholders of $63.7 million or $0.23 per common share for the first six months of 2015 as compared to $50.9 million or $0.22 per common share for the first six months of 2014. Adjusted net earnings attributable to shareholders was $64.6 million or $0.25 per common share for the first six months of 2015 as compared to $53.6 million or $0.24 per common share for the first six months of 2014. Adjusted EBITDA was $195.6 million for the first six months of 2015 compared to $164.8 million for the first six months of 2014.
