Mazda Motor Corporation reported consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of ¥806,007 million, operating income of ¥53,324 million, ordinary income of ¥54,617 million, net income of ¥37,366 million, net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥36,753 million, net cash provided by operating activities of ¥63,017 million, acquisition of tangible fixed assets of ¥23,940 million, acquisition of intangible fixed assets of ¥2,778 million against net sales of ¥705,639 million, operating income of ¥56,382 million, ordinary income of ¥54,574 million, net income of ¥48,545 million, net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥48,891 million, net cash provided by operating activities of ¥38,117 million, acquisition of tangible fixed assets of ¥34,456 million, acquisition of intangible fixed assets of ¥2,459 million a year ago. The decline in profitability came despite the company reporting a 14% year on year jump in quarterly revenues. Global sales jumped 16% year on year to 370,000 units, helped by brisk demand for the remodelled Mazda2 and CX-3 models. Net income per share of ¥61.48 compared to ¥81.78 a year ago. For the full year ending March 31, 2016, the company expects net sales to be ¥32,500,000 million, operating income to be ¥2,100,000, ordinary income to be ¥2,150,000 million, income before income taxes to be ¥2,050,000 million, net income attributable to owners of the parent to be ¥1,400,000 million or ¥234.18 per share and capital expenditures to be ¥1,050,000 million. For the half year ending September 30, 2015, the company expects net sales to be ¥1,600,000 million, operating income to be ¥95,000,000, ordinary income to be ¥100,000 million, net income attributable to owners of the parent to be ¥60,000,000 million or ¥100.36 per share.

Mazda Motor Corporation Announces the Price of its All-New CX-3 Crossover in the United States

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the price of its all-new CX-3 crossover in the United States. The model will be available on sale in the United States around mid-August and will be priced from USD 20,840. The entry level package is available in Sport trim with front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. The CX-3 Touring features include leatherette seating surfaces, heated seats, a leather trimmed steering wheel, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The Grand Touring trim features a moonroof, adaptive front lighting, LED headlights, head-up display, leather and suede two-tone seats, a seven-speaker sound system and paddle shifters.
