China Agri-Industries Holdings Limited, an investment holding company, engages in the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural products primarily in China. Its Oilseeds Processing segment is involved in the extracting, refining, and trading edible oil and related products. This segment offers soybean oil, palm oil, rapeseed oil, and oilseeds meals under the Fuzhanggui, Sihai, Xiyingying, and Guhua brands. The company’s Biochemical and Biofuel segment produces and sells biochemical products, such as corn starch, sweeteners, crude corn oil, monosodium glutamate, and feed ingredients; and biofuel products comprising fuel ethanol, consumable alcohol, anhydrous ethanol, crude corn oil, and dried distillers grains with solubles. Its Rice Processing and Trading segment engages in the processing and trading of rice under the Fortune, Jinying, Five Lakes, Golden Terra, Xin, and Donghai Mingzhu names. The company’s Wheat Processing segment produces and sells flour products, noodles, bread products under the Fortune and Xiangxue brands. Its Brewing materials segment is involved in processing and trading malt. China Agri-Industries Holdings Limited sells its products primarily through its sales network; and also exports its products primarily to Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Macau. The company was formerly known as Sino Vision Hong Kong Limited and changed its name to China Agri-Industries Holdings Limited in January 2007. China Agri-Industries Holdings Limited was incorporated in 2006 and is based in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. China Agri-Industries Holdings Limited is a subsidiary of COFCO (Hong Kong) Limited.

COFCO Corporation has invited investment banks to submit proposals for a possible group restructuring, people with knowledge of the matter said. Cofco will consider combining units and selling peripheral businesses to improve profitability, according to the people. Possibilities that may be proposed include Cofco’s cooking-oil producer China Foods Limited (SEHK:506) divesting its confectionery business or merging with a sister company such as oilseed processor China Agri-Industries Holdings Limited (SEHK:606), they said, asking not to be identified as the information is private.
