New China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. reported unaudited group and parent company earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, on group basis, the company reported operating income of RMB 66,256 million compared to RMB 55,231 million a year ago. Operating profit was RMB 4,684 million compared to RMB 1,841 million a year ago. Net profit before income tax expenses were RMB 4,684 million compared to RMB 1,830 million a year ago. Net profit was RMB 3,625 million or RMB 1.16 per basic and diluted share compared to RMB 1,560 million or RMB 0.50 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the company was RMB 3,624 million compared to RMB 1,560 million a year ago. Net cash flows used in operating activities were RMB 5,773 million compared to RMB 26,844 million a year ago. Cash paid for acquisition of fixed assets, intangible assets and other long-term assets was RMB 288 million compared to RMB 274 million a year ago. Net assets per share attributable to shareholders of the company were RMB 17.29 per share against 15.50, at the end of the last year. Weighted average ROE was 7.09% compared to 3.89% a year ago.
