Palo Alto Networks Seals Strategic Alliance with Trustwave to Provide Security Services to Global Businesses and Government Agencies

Shares of Palo Alto Networks were higher on September 30, 2015 after the company said it sealed a strategic alliance with Trustwave to provide security services to global businesses and government agencies. Under the terms of the deal, Trustwave will become a member of the Palo Alto Networks NextWave partner program to provide managed security services for the Palo Alto Networks security platform. In addition, Trustwave will also use Palo Alto's WildFire cloud-based malware analysis and prevention service to enhance its threat management and intelligence services.

Palo Alto Networks Announces General Availability of AutoFocus

Palo Alto Networks announced general availability of AutoFocus™, a new threat intelligence cloud service that provides prioritized, actionable cyberthreat intelligence and gives organizations a clear advantage in the battle against cyberthreats. AutoFocus empowers security teams to protect their organizations from unique and targeted attacks. The service, initially made available in April 2015 as a community access offering, provides users with the shared intelligence, analytics, and context required to understand which attacks require immediate response, as well as the ability to make threat indicators actionable and prevent future attacks. In addition to helping shape its continued development, participants in the community access program applauded the valuable benefits they found using the AutoFocus service, including: Priority alerts to help identify and immediately address targeted advanced attacks; Actionable context around attacks, adversaries, and campaigns to better understand how threats fit into campaigns or target specific industries; and Informed proactive security response to mitigate and prevent attacks facing their organization.

Palo Alto Networks Announces Executive Appointments

Palo Alto Networks announced the addition of two decorated military and intelligence leaders to further enhance the company's cybersecurity strategy and global policy expertise. Retired U.S. Army Major General John Davis will serve as Federal Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Palo Alto Networks and brings extensive cyber experience into the new role. His responsibilities include expanding cybersecurity initiatives and global policy for the international public sector and assisting governments around the world to successfully prevent cybersecurity attacks. He left the Pentagon in May 2015 as the Senior Military Advisor for Cyber to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and served as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy. Sir Iain Lobban has joined the Palo Alto Networks Public Sector Advisory Council, which serves as a sounding board for Palo Alto Networks roadmap and vision for the needs of the international public sector, as well as strategy and policy relevant to global cybersecurity. He was Director of Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in the United Kingdom from 2008 - 2014, having served as Director General of Operations from 2004-2008.
