MedAssets, Inc., a performance improvement company, provides technology-enabled products and services for hospitals, health systems, non-acute healthcare providers, payers, and other service providers and product manufacturers in the United States. It operates in two segments, Spend and Clinical Resource Management (SCM) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). The SCM segment provides a suite of cost management services, supply chain analytics, and data capabilities; strategic sourcing and group purchasing services; and medical device and clinical resource consulting, lean performance improvement, workforce management, and supply chain outsourcing and procurement services. This segment also provides business intelligence and decision support tools. The RCM segment offers Web-based software and technology-enabled services designed to enhance the revenue performance for healthcare organizations through patient access and financial responsibility, clinical documentation, charge capture and revenue integrity, pricing analysis, claims processing and denials management, payor contract management, extended business office revenue recovery, accounts receivable, and outsourcing services. As of December 31, 2014, the company served approximately 4,500 acute care hospitals and 123,000 ancillary or non-acute provider locations. The company was incorporated in 1999 and is headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia.

MedAssets Expands Relationship with Vanderbilt University Medical Center to Include Lean Healthcare Solutions

MedAssets announced Vanderbilt University Medical Center has selected the company to provide Lean Healthcare Transformation & Integration Consulting services for operational process and performance improvement across its care continuum. The new 18-month engagement – largely focused on VUMC's clinical departments – will use innovative education, advanced problem-solving techniques and rapid improvement initiatives to guide VUMC staff in affecting and sustaining change. The agreement builds upon momentum created from Lean project engagements completed in 2014 as part of MedAssets longstanding relationship with VUMC. Building off VUMC's successful, long-term relationship leveraging MedAssets Advisory Solutions to improve efficiencies and quality, lower cost structure and increase revenue, plans call for MedAssets team of Lean, Six Sigma, physician and clinical experts to deploy best practice change management and implementation know-how. Lean and other continuous improvement methodologies have become primary strategies for responding to America's healthcare challenges. These methods provide practical, sustained benefits when applied to healthcare that positively impact patient and employee satisfaction. MedAssetsOperational Improvement Solutions help organizations lower their total cost of operations by implementing processes and technologies that promote continuous improvement.

MedAssets, Inc. Announces Executive Changes

On March 17, 2015, MedAssets, Inc. announced that Mr. Charles O. Garner, the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to a newly created leadership position of Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Garner will continue to report directly to Mr. R. Halsey Wise, the company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and lead the company's growth strategy, operational improvement, and organizational alignment efforts as part of its long-term value creation plan. On February 17, 2015, in connection with the promotion of Mr. Garner, the Board of Directors of the company appointed Mr. Anthony Colaluca, age 48, to serve as the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Colaluca will report directly to Mr. Wise and oversee the company's finance and accounting operations. Immediately prior to joining MedAssets, Mr. Colaluca was managing member of Colaluca Business Advisors, providing business and financial consulting advisory services.
