Denki Kagaku Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha manufactures and sells organic and inorganic materials, electronic materials, and pharmaceuticals in Japan and internationally. The company’s Elastomers and Performance Plastics business provides chloroprene rubber, chloroprene rubber latex, acetylene black, ER rubbers, and caustic soda; ABS resins, styrenic transparent resins, heat resistance modifiers, etc.; and styrene monomer, acetyl chemicals, and synthetic resins. Its Inorganic Materials business offers calcium cyanamide, magnesium humate soil, fused magnesium phosphate, and silicate phosphate fertilizers, as well as liquid cyanamide agent; inorganic chemicals, such as calcium carbide, alumina cement, and alumina fibers; ordinary Portland, high-early strength Portland, Portland blast-furnace slag, and geo cement; and special cement additives, including expanding additives, non-shrink grout additives, quick-setting agents, acrylic adhesives, and repair products for concrete structure. The company’s Electronics and Innovative Products business provides sheets for carrier tapes, thermos films, fused and spherical silica, silicon and boron nitride, sialon phosphor, emitters, thermally conductive aluminum base and ceramic substrates, compound materials, heat-dissipation materials, dicing and back grinding tapes, acrylate adhesives, UV light curing adhesives, and temporary fixing adhesives. Its Life Science and Environmental Products business offers plastic rain gutters, plastic drain pipes, insulating adhesive tapes, wrapping tapes, alloy based films, polyvinyl chloride fibers, packaging sheets, and plastic food packages; monochloroacetic acid; and high-purity gases for semiconductor industry. This business also offers macromolecular sodium hyaluronate injection, vaccines for influenza and other infectious diseases, diagnostic drugs and reagents for bacteria and viruses, and skin care cosmetics. The company was founded in 1915 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Denki Kagaku Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha reported consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended December of 2014. For the period, the company posted a 21% year-on-year increase in its nine-month net profit to JPY 13.9 billion against JPY 11.4 billion a year ago. Operating profit for the period rose by 5.5% year on year to JPY 17.4 billion against JPY 16.5 billion a year ago. Net sales were up by 3% to JPY 288.8 billion against JPY 280.4 billion a year ago. Operating income was JPY 17.4 billion against JPY 16.5 billion a year ago. Capital expenditure was JPY 14.2 million against JPY 18.1 billion a year ago. For the year ending March 2015, the company expects net sales of JPY 390.0 billion, operating income of JPY 25.0 million, ordinary income of JPY 23.5 billion, net income of JPY 18.0 billion and capital expenditure of JPY 23.0 billion.
