Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, through its subsidiaries, operates stock market and derivatives market in Hong Kong. It operates in five segments: Cash, Equity and Financial Derivatives, Commodities, Clearing, and Platform and Infrastructure. The Cash segment covers various equity products traded on the cash market platforms, sale of market data relating to the products, and other related activities. This segment also operates the two cash market platforms comprising the Main Board and the Growth Enterprise Market. The Equity and Financial Derivatives segment is involved in the provision and maintenance of trading platforms for a range of equity and financial derivative products, such as stock and equity index futures and options, derivative warrants, and CBBCs and warrants, as well as other related activities. The Commodities segment operates an exchange for the trading of base metals futures and options contracts in the United Kingdom. The Clearing segment operates clearing houses comprising HKSCC, SEOCH, HKCC, OTC Clear, and LME Clear that are responsible for clearing, settlement, and custodian activities of the stock exchange and the futures exchange; clearing over-the-counter derivatives contracts; and clearing and settlement of base metals futures and options contracts. The Platform and Infrastructure segment offers various services that provide users with access to the platform and infrastructure. The company serves participants and users of exchanges and clearing houses, including issuers and intermediaries, such as investment banks or sponsors, securities and derivatives brokers, custodian banks, and information vendors. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited is based in Central, Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Limited Declares Interim Dividend for the Year Ending December 31, 2015; Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Six Months Ended June 30, 2015; Provides Capital Expenditure Guidance for the Year 2015

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Limited announced that the Board has declared an interim dividend of HKD 3.08 per share for the year ending December 31, 2015 compared to HKD 1.83 per share a year ago. The interim dividend will be payable in cash with a scrip dividend alternative. Ex-dividend date is 25 August 2015 and record date is 28 August 2015. The company reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2015. For the six months, the company’s revenue was HKD 6,457 million against HKD 4,263 million a year ago. EBITDA was HKD 5,273 million against HKD 3,198 million a year ago. Operating profit was HKD 4,948 million against HKD 2,874 million a year ago. Profit before taxation was HKD 4,866 million against HKD 2,771 million a year ago. Profit for the period was HKD 4,083 million against HKD 2,354 million a year ago. Profit attributable to shareholders of the company was HKD 4,095 million against HKD 2,367 million a year ago. The group incurred capital expenditure of HKD 262 million against HKD 231 million a year ago, related to the development and upgrade of various trading and clearing systems including commodities trading and clearing systems, a cash clearing system, trading and clearing systems to facilitate mutual stock market access between the mainland of China and Hong Kong, and a corporate Enterprises Resource Planning system. Net cash inflow from operating activities was HKD 5,452 million against HKD 1,852 million a year ago. The Group's capital expenditure commitments at 30 June 2015, including those authorized by the Board but not yet contracted for, amounted to HKD 778 million against HKD 574 million a year ago and were mainly related to the development and enhancement of IT systems including clearing systems for Cash Market, OTC derivatives and commodities, Cash Market and commodities trading systems, and trading and clearing systems to facilitate mutual stock market access between the mainland of China and Hong Kong.
