ZyXEL Communications to Unveil LTE3301 and LTE3311

ZyXEL Communications has announced that it will unveil its LTE3301 and LTE3311, two new LTE indoor routers with 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink performance at next month's Mobile World Congress. Up until now, service providers looking for powerful LTE devices only had very limited choice in the market and lacked the flexibility to choose between suppliers. Now with the introduction of its competitively priced LTE portfolio, ZyXEL offers a real alternative while at the same time providing comprehensive customization and local support. The Europe-wide launch of the LTE routers will enable service providers to provide fast and reliable wireless access to any location under FDD-LTE coverage, whether they are looking for a single-mode (LTE only) or multi-mode (LTE + 3G/2G) device. Additionally, some TDD-LTE bands such as former CDMA (450MHz) and WiMAX (3,500MHz) are supported, paving the way for operators to migrate to LTE. Benefits for service providers: The LTE3300 series provides high-performance wireless access, maximizing the freedom of mobility. The new routers respond to the ever-increasing demands for seamless wireless communication required by today's always-on way of life, video streaming and conference calls, amongst other things. ZyXEL's LTE3300 series allows service providers with existing LTE infrastructures to cover remote or rural areas where broadband may be unavailable or simply unaffordable. Similarly, any broadband providers with mobile services can enhance their offering with an alternative to rival wired service providers. The routers' compact design ensures easy deployment for end-customers in home environments and small businesses. Plus, both models incorporate the TR-069 standard management specifications for service providers to manage and configure client devices remotely without end user intervention. This feature offers a true plug-and-play experience while reducing deployment complexity to help save operating and maintenance costs for service providers. The LTE3311 features SIP (RFC3251-based) VoIP technology, rendering it suitable for IP telephony deployments for small businesses or home users. ZyXEL's new LTE3300 series will satisfy a wide range of end customers' requirements on connectivity whether they are looking for a simple LTE data device (LTE3301) or require complex services (LTE3311) including voice features over IP, 3G/GSM (Circuit Switch Calls) or even, in the near future, VoLTE (Voice over LTE).

ZyXEL Communications Expands Next-Gen UTM Firewall Gateways with USG1100 and USG1900

ZyXEL Communications announced its Extreme Series of next-gen UTM firewall gateways: The USG1100 and USG1900. Key features for ZyXEL's new Extreme Series UTMs include: Gigabit throughput: Multi-core high-frequency CPUs maintain peak performance while allowing various security services to operate in the background. A multi-core processer enables the USG series to meet growing demand for high bandwidth applications; Unified management interface: Completely redesigned management portal that consolidates all security policies in a single location to help resource-strapped SMBs enforce policies effortlessly. Unique to ZyXEL's new USG line, the unified management interface offers single point of control for firewall, IDP, anti-virus, content filtering and application control - making it easy to set consistent policies for different user groups within an organization; Application intelligence: Identifies, categorizes and controls over 3,000 social, gaming, productivity and other Web applications and behaviours to boost productivity and prevent bandwidth abuse; Integrated WLAN controller: A built in WLAN controller to meet the growing demand for secure Wi-Fi networks. The WLAN management component is closely integrated with security management to help SMBs quickly and effortlessly set-up a secure WLAN network. Additionally, the built-in WLAN controller offers businesses the ability to grow their Wi-Fi network along with the business; SSL inspection: Provides deep packet inspection for SSL traffic; High availability: Mission-critical network and VPN deployments get always-on connectivity by a three-tier high availability design - multi-WAN, VPN HA and device HA; Integrated Vantage Report: Vantage Report delivers extensive reporting, visibility and manageability to ensure security policies and bandwidth usage are adequately optimized to business demands; and Best-of-Breed Security: Including services from Kaspersky (Anti-Virus), Cyren (Content Filtering and Anti-Spam) and TrendMicro (IDP and Application Control). ZyXEL Extreme Series provides enterprise-class security while simplifying management for the mid-size business market. Zyxel Introduces Its Next-Generation NXC5500 WLAN Controller and Its NWA5301NJ Wall-Plate Unified WiFi Access Point

Zyxel announced that it has introduced its next-generation NXC5500 wireless local area network (WLAN) controller and its NWA5301NJ wall-plate Unified WiFi Access Point (AP). Offering WiFi service and WLAN optimization for large-scale wireless networks, the NXC5500 supports up to 512 APs, is equipped with the company's ZLD V4.10 firmware and boasts network management capabilities. The WLAN controller and wall-plate AP are currently available through all the company's authorized partners, with the WLAN controller retailing for $3,399 and the AP for $139. The scalable WLAN, paired with the AP, is aimed at hospitality providers looking to offer guests in-room WiFi services in a non-obtrusive way. To ensure clients get the best WiFi performance, the NXC5500 is equipped with a Client Steering function that utilizes band select and signal threshold settings. Band select establishes 5GHz as the default frequency band for dual-band devices, allowing users to avoid the heavily trafficked 2.4GHz band and enabling them to get the higher throughput of high-end devices with 802.11n or 802.11ac support. In addition, the NXC5500 is designed to help organizations build a robust network that supports up to 16,000 concurrent devices without compromising performance. The NXC5500 is able to maintain networkwide WiFi quality by use of a signal threshold function that directs the client device to the AP offering the optimal signal strength. Rounding out the package is the NXC5500's Auto Healing function, which automates several management tasks, including network monitoring, AP status checks and troubleshooting coverage issues. The NWA5301-NJ AP integrates WiFi, Ethernet and phone connectivity in one box and offers Power over Ethernet (PoE) support for user-friendly installation. The appliance can be deployed as a stand-alone AP or a controller-managed AP compatible with the company's line of WLAN controllers, and it features 300M-bps 802.11n WiFi with a high-gain antenna. Other features include RJ-45, PoE and PJ-48 phone pass-through ports to connect different devices, including notebooks, printers, set-top boxes, voice over IP (VoIP) phones and more, as well as extended phone and IPTV services with an integrated interface and a back panel design that fits the majority of outlet boxes in the world.
