The company develops, leases, and sells various residential and commercial properties, such as club house, parking facilities, retail spaces, sports stadiums, youth centers, shopping arcades, residential houses, and medium-rise apartments, as well as hotels and offices in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Macau. As of December 31, 2013, its landbank for development totaled to approximately 5 million square meters of gross floor area. The company also explores and produces oil in Kazakhstan. In addition, it is involved in the provision of property management and security services, financial services, and cold storage services; project management and financial investment activities; manufacture and sale of ice; treasury operations; and film distribution activities. The company was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Kowloon Development Company Limited is a subsidiary of Intellinsight Holdings Limited.

Subject to the approval by the shareholders at the forthcoming annual general meeting of the Company, the dividend cheques are expected to be despatched on 18 June 2015.

Kowloon Development Company Limited reported consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2014. For the year, the company’s net profit attributable to shareholders of the company amounted to HKD 1,041 million compared to HKD 1,294 million in 2013, a decrease of 19.6%. Excluding revaluation gains from its investment properties, the group's underlying net profit rose to HKD 618 million from HKD 388 million in 2013, an increase of 59%. The underlying net earnings per share were HKD 0.54 compared to HKD 0.34 in 2013. Turnover was HKD 3,150.473 million against HKD 1,416.751 million a year ago. Profit from operation was HKD 1,187.338 against HKD 1,065.087 million a year ago. Profit before taxation was HKD 1,283.952 million against HKD 1,360.371 million a year ago. Basic/diluted earnings per share was HKD 0.90 against HKD 1.12 a year ago.
