The company operates in two segments, Customer Premises Equipment and Network & Cloud. The Customer Premises Equipment segment offers various product solutions, including set-top boxes, gateways, digital subscriber lines and cable modems, and embedded multimedia terminal adapters and voice/data modems that enable service providers to offer voice, video, and high-speed data services to residential and business subscribers. The Network & Cloud segment provides hybrid fiber coax equipment, edge routers, metro Wi-Fi, video management, storage, and distribution equipment for cable providers; and fiber-based and copper-based broadband transmission equipment for telecommunication providers. This segment also offers video headend management system for legacy moving picture experts group (MPEG)/digital video broadcasting (DVB) systems, as well as full Internet protocol video systems; support for multi-screen video management, protection, monetization, and delivery; and various products for performance management, configuration, and surveillance. ARRIS Group, Inc. was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in Suwanee, Georgia.

Suddenlink Selects ARRIS E6000™ Converged Edge Router

Suddenlink has begun deployment of the E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER) from ARRIS Group, Inc. to help deliver optimal broadband data performance and advanced entertainment services to its subscribers. The ARRIS E6000 CER delivers new levels of density and cost-effectiveness in a simple, robust integrated architecture. With the E6000 CER, Suddenlink can provide customers with high-speed data services of 1Gbps and beyond, as well as the capability to access more high-quality content anytime, on any connected device. ARRIS Global Services is responsible for deployment services for the E6000 chassis. Services to be provided for each site include site surveys, configuration, installation, powering, cutovers and cable "wreck out." Suddenlink joins an increasing number of forward-thinking service providers that chose the ARRIS E6000 CER to enhance their services and realize significant operational savings. The ARRIS E6000 CER is based on the Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) specification that enables operators to optimize IP content delivery and to cost-effectively deploy services. The E6000 CER is the CCAP solution, providing service to millions of subscribers worldwide through a high-availability, high-performance solution that supports a redundant design.

ARRIS Group, Inc. Introduces a New Service Provider Wi-Fi Solution

ARRIS Group, Inc. introduced a new Service Provider Wi-Fi solution for extending residential Wi-Fi services outside the home and addressing paying verticals including SMB, MDU and campus type environments. The carrier-class solution will allow operators to offer centrally managed, coordinated service offerings to their customers and greatly improve their ROI on wireless infrastructure. It will also allow operators to extend their sphere of influence beyond the traditional boundaries of the home network, expanding the market for advanced services, new verticals and targeted advertising. ARRIS's Service Provider Wi-Fi Systems Design and Integration combines key service components - Authentication Authorization and Accounting (AAA), policy enforcement, web portals, wireless access gateways, radio resource management, access point controllers, and access points for delivering a single, unified customer experience regardless of device, location or transport technology. The platform's turnkey, carrier-class capabilities integrate seamlessly into operators' delivery network and back-office systems as a result of ARRIS's integration with Aptilo Networks, Benu Networks and Ruckus Wireless. The combined platform leverages Aptilo's service management platform, Benu's wireless access gateway, and Ruckus carrier-class, Smart Wi-Fi access points and control systems to provide a scalable, global platform for new Wi-Fi service delivery. The Aptilo Service Management Platform™ centralizes user authentication, billing, policy enforcement, and captive portals to the operator's cloud, supporting a wide range of Wi-Fi business models. Benu's wireless access gateway enables seamless mobility between access networks, terminating tunnels from Wi-Fi access points and providing a consistent user experience across the network. Ruckus ZoneFlex™ access points as well as their SmartCell™ Gateway (SCG) and virtual SCG (vSCG) carrier scale WLAN controllers provide carrier-class Wi-Fi access plus self-organizing and self-optimizing capabilities, and are available in a broad range of indoor and outdoor models, including wall-plate units designed specifically for the MDU and hospitality sectors. The Service Provider Wi-Fi solution also provides a full set of Wi-Fi services including business case analysis, lab proof of concept and validations, OSS/BSS integrations, managed services and field design and deployment allowing businesses to create solutions tailored specifically for their customers' needs.
