Korea Electric Power Corporation, integrated electric utility company, generates, transmits, and distributes electricity in Korea and internationally. The company operates through Transmission and Distribution, Electric Power Generation (Nuclear), Electric Power Generation (Non-Nuclear), Plant Maintenance & Engineering Service, and Others segments. It generates power from nuclear, coal, oil, liquefied natural gas, internal combustion, hydro, solar/wind, and biomass sources. As of December 31, 2014, the company had a total of 607 generation units, including nuclear, thermal, hydroelectric, and internal combustion units with an installed generation capacity of 72,305 megawatts. Its transmission system consisted of 32,795 circuit kilometers of lines of 765 kilovolts and others, including high-voltage direct current lines, as well as 805 substations with an installed transformer capacity of 285,242 megavolt-amperes; and distribution system consisted of 107,804 megavolt-amperes of transformer capacity and 8,832,409 units of support with a total line length of 457,249 circuit kilometers. The company provides electricity to residential, commercial, educational, industrial, agricultural, street lighting, and overnight power usage. It is also involved in providing plant maintenance and engineering services, and information services; selling nuclear fuel; and communication line leasing activities, as well as developing uranium mine. Korea Electric Power Corporation was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Naju, South Korea.

Korea Electric Power Corporation announced unaudited consolidated and separate earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, on consolidated basis, the company reported operating revenues of KRW 15,124 billion against KRW 14,773 billion a year ago. Operating income was KRW 2,240 billion against KRW 1,227 billion a year ago. Income before income tax was KRW 2,058 billion against KRW 902 billion a year ago. Net income was KRW 1,223 billion against KRW 561 billion a year ago. Net income attributable to owners of the company was KRW 1,200 billion against KRW 532 billion a year ago. For the quarter, on separate basis, the company reported operating revenues of KRW 14,937 billion against KRW 14,681 billion a year ago. Operating loss was KRW 194 billion against KRW 267 billion a year ago. Income before income tax was KRW 304 billion against loss before income tax of KRW 341 billion a year ago. Net income was KRW 335 billion against net loss of KRW 204 billion a year ago.
