Korea Electric Power Corporation, an integrated electric utility company, generates, transmits, and distributes electricity in Korea. It operates through Transmission and distribution, Electric power generation (Nuclear), Electric power generation (Non-nuclear), Plant maintenance & engineering service, and Others segments. The company generates power from nuclear, coal, oil, liquefied natural gas, hydro, wind, solar, and biogas sources. As of December 31, 2013, it had a total of 598 generation units, including nuclear, thermal, hydroelectric, and internal combustion units with a total installed generation capacity of 70,845 megawatts. The company’s transmission system consisted of approximately 32,249 circuit kilometers of lines of 765 kilovolts and others, including high voltage direct current lines, as well as 790 substations with an installed transformer capacity of 279,540 megavolt-amperes; and distribution system included approximately 105,740 megavolt-amperes of transformer capacity and 8,698,776 units of support with a line length of 449,683 circuit kilometers. It provides electricity to industrial, commercial, residential, educational, and agricultural customers, as well as for street lighting and overnight power usage. The company was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Naju, South Korea.

Korea Electric Power Corp. reported unaudited consolidated and parent earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, on consolidated basis, the company reported operating revenues of KRW 14,905 billion against KRW 14,274 billion a year ago. Operating income was KRW 870 billion against KRW 407 billion a year ago. Income before income tax was KRW 513 billion against loss before income tax of KRW 197 billion a year ago. Net income attributable to owners of the company was KRW 452 billion against KRW 595 billion a year ago. For the year, on consolidated basis, the company reported operating revenues of KRW 57,475 billion against KRW 54,038 billion a year ago. Operating income was KRW 5,788 billion against KRW 1,519 billion a year ago. Income before income tax was KRW 4,229 billion against loss before income tax of KRW 396 billion a year ago.
