Huawei Announces Business Enabling System, to Assist in CSP Digital Transformation

Huawei announced BES (Business Enabling System), a new generation framework of products and solutions to assist CSPs to grow and manage an open and interoperable digital ecosystem. BES is a holistic framework which aims to solve the flexibility, scalability, ease of integration, and digital capabilities needed to deliver fast-time to market, superior customer experience, and drive digital services innovation for both consumer and business markets. In the current telecoms landscape, traditional business operations support systems were architected and built to passively support telecom services such as voice, SMS, and data traffic. The complexity of integrating network, IT systems, and infrastructure coupled with high rates of business change and has long been a competitive roadblock for CSPs. Huawei solves this through BES. It offers pre-integrated software modules, business processes, functional capabilities, API management, analytics technology, reference architecture and delivery models to help CSPs explore, operate, and expand platform businesses across B2C/B2B/B2B2X digital ecosystems. BES is based on an entirely new hierarchal architecture design based on integrated business processes adaptive to value chains, customer experience, partners, infrastructure, digital and non-digital products and services. Huawei Unveils New 5G-Oriented Air Interface Technologies at the Mobile World Congress 2015

Huawei announced that it will reveal a series of new 5G-oriented air interface technologies at the Mobile World Congress 2015. As 5G becomes increasingly prominent in today's telecom industry, it will undoubtedly be the hottest topic to be featured at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Innovations revolving around 5G are driven by exponentially increasing appetite for mobile Internet and the Internet of Things, which are expected to dominate by 2020 and beyond, and are expected to deliver the ultimate user experience based on traffic growth of 1,000%. In order to fully develop 5G technology, revolutionary air interface techniques, networking techniques, and network architectures are prerequisites. Of all these emerging techniques, next-generation air interface is most essential and fundamentally significant. Due to having heavily invested in next generation technology research, Huawei's 5G R&D team has achieved remarkable breakthroughs in 5G air interface, virtualized radio access, as well as new RF technologies. Among the new air interface techniques proposed by Huawei, the self-adaptive and software-defined air interface designs, namely the non-orthogonal access technology based on Sparse Code Multiple Access, and Filtered-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing are the most remarkable. Huawei has successfully tested the validity of its conceptual prototype. The results proved that the new air interface design can effectively improve spectral efficiency, increase connectivity, and reduce latency, thus facilitating the deployment of customized scenarios applied to the Internet of Things and for high bandwidth-consuming scenarios such as virtual reality. Another achievement that will be announced by Huawei at MWC 2015 is its 5G air interface architecture, which has proven capable of supporting the full duplex prototype technology featuring multi-path fading cancellation and large bandwidth. The test results show that this entirely new duplex mechanism is able to improve spectral efficiency by 200%, laying a solid foundation for future unification of TDD and FDD spectrums. As the innovator of next generation mobile technologies, Huawei has committed an investment of USD 600 million in research and innovation of 5G until 2018. Recently, Huawei appointed a team of over 300 5G experts and established nine 5G R&D centers worldwide. Huawei's exciting breakthroughs in 5G innovation will once again boost the development of the future mobile technologies.

Huawei Announces L-Band Antenna Supporting Ultra Wide Band and Multi Band

Huawei announced the release of the L-band antenna supporting Ultra Wide Band (UWB) and multi band. In addition to the major frequency bands at 700/800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz, the new antenna will enable deployment of the 1500MHz band. Effective at delivering mobile broadband (MBB) services featuring strong capacity and large area coverage, even within buildings, utilization of L-band (1300-1518MHz) is forecast to grow rapidly in the coming years according to studies by the GSMA. Within the L-band range, the 1452-1492MHz band, in particular, has been gaining traction with regulators, including a recent decision in Europe to make this band available for mobile broadband. For its part, Huawei began research on L-band antenna development in 2014, and becomes the first company to release an UWB and multi band antenna to support all major frequency bands and L-band within a single antenna. Planned for initial implementation in Europe, the antenna will greatly assist operators in the rapid deployment of MBB networks and also features the advantages of: One-time deployment: Deployment of a multi band, ultra wide band antenna eliminates the need for repeated site upgrades, reducing TCO (Total Cost of Operation); Fast capacity expansion: The antenna capacity is reserved for future expansion in order to satisfy the fast expansion requirement of newly added LTE frequency bands; Performance improvement: The legacy antenna system is replaced with a new antenna system to improve overall network performance and the user experience.
