Etex SA manufactures and sells building materials worldwide. The company operates through Cladding and Building Boards, Roofing, Fire Protection and Insulation, and Ceramic Tiles. The Cladding and Building Boards segment provides fiber cement cladding boards under the Equitone, Superboard, Tonality, and Cedral brands that are used for the facades of houses or buildings, such as offices, schools, or hospitals; and gypsum boards under the Siniat, Superboard, Hydropanel, Gyplac, and Durlock brands. The Roofing segment offers small roofing elements, including fiber cement slates, and clay and concrete roof tiles; and large roofing elements used in agricultural and residential building sectors. The Fire Protection and Insulation segment provides passive fire protection insulation systems comprising fire protective boards, sprays, or intumescent products under the Promat brand for non-residential buildings consisting of public and multi-storey buildings. This segment also offers thermal insulation systems under the Microtherm brand used in fuel cells, solar energy systems, heat treatments, chimneys, and storage heaters applications. The Ceramic Tiles segment provides ceramic tiles under the Ceramica San Lorenzo and Ceramicas Cordillera, which are used in residential applications, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms; and non-residential market, such as shopping centers and offices. Etex SA was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

Etex S.A. Announces Earnings Results for the Six Months Ended June 30, 2016

Etex S.A. announced earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2016. For the period, the company reported revenues of EUR 1,480 million compared with EUR 1,522 million for the same period a year ago. Recurring operating income was EUR 135 million compared with EUR 119 million for the same period a year ago. Operating cash flow (ebitda) was EUR 201 million compared with EUR 205 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income (ebit) was EUR 119 million compared with EUR 122 million for the same period a year ago. Profit for the year group share was EUR 52 million compared with EUR 62 million for the same period a year ago. Net financial debt was EUR 885 million compared with EUR 1,027 million for the same period a year ago. Capital expenditure was EUR 39 million compared with EUR 81 million for the same period a year ago. Recurring operating cash flow was EUR 216 million compared with EUR 202 million for the same period a year ago.

Etex Appoints Bernadette Spinoy to its Board of Directors

Etex has announced the appointment of Bernadette Spinoy to its board of directors. Bernadette Spinoy is senior vice president of Industrial Safety and a member of the Performance Management Committee of the French Total Group. Starting her career in 1985 at PetroFina, Bernadette Spinoy held various roles in the company's refining and supply division as well as in gas transportation and marketing. In 2012, she was appointed Total's Senior vice president, Refining & Petrochemicals Eastern Hemisphere. Bernadette Spinoy was a member of Cepsa's Board of Directors from 2003 to 2010. In 2014, she joined the Board of Faurecia, before becoming a member of the board of Etex in May 2016.

Etex Opens New Fiber Cement Boards Plant in Karawang, Indonesia

Etex has opened its new fiber cement boards plant in Karawang, near Jakarta. Strategically located in Karawang, 32 miles east of the capital Jakarta, the factory is situated near major roads and the port of Jakarta. The factory boasts several eco-friendly specs. These include: zero-waste production, a closed water circuit, the use of recycled cellulose fibre as a raw material, and a 4,000 m3 pond to collect rainwater for manufacturing purposes. The new factory in Indonesia is only one of four major greenfield investments completed by Etex in 2015. Besides the fibre cement boards factory in Karawang, three plasterboards plants were opened around the globe.
