The Tires segment manufactures and sells tires for a range of passenger cars, trucks, buses, and construction vehicles under the TOYO TIRES and NITTO names; and fuel-efficient tires under the NANOENERGY brand. The Divertech segment offers rubber vibration isolators, waterproof sheets, automotive cushion seats, and other products. This segment provides seismic isolation rubbers, couplings, hydraulic engine mounts, polishing pads for semiconductor manufacturing, seismic isolation rubber for buildings, road materials, heat insulation materials, and OA equipment parts. The company also offers chemical and industrial products, such as railway air springs and anti vibration rubbers, gas meter diaphragms, rubber couplings, industrial rubber cushion, resin hoses, fillers for gas and liquid contact, filtering material for microorganism embedding, and insulation materials. In addition, it provides automotive parts that include engine/motor, member/differential, and strut mounts; exhaust mounts /dynamic dampers; constant verlocity universal joint boots; urethane seat cushions; and air suspensions. Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. founded in 1945 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.

Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the Third Quarter Ended September 30, 2015; Revises Earnings Guidance for the Full Year Ending December 31, 2015

Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. announced consolidated earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of ¥300,955 million against ¥287,274 million a year ago. Operating income was ¥47,611 million against ¥34,010 million a year ago. Ordinary income was ¥41,626 million against ¥32,775 million a year ago. Net loss was ¥4,315 million against net profit of ¥23,510 million in the same period for fiscal year 2014. Due to the consumption tax increase and other factors, both unit sales and net sales declined compared with the same period last year. Operating income and ordinary income increased as a result of lower-than-expected raw material costs and other factors and net loss was due to posting extraordinary losses of approximately ¥39.5 billion for product reparations and provision of reserve for product warranties to deal with the seismic isolation rubber issue and approximately ¥4.2 billion for losses related to antitrust matters. The company revised earnings guidance for the full year ending December 31, 2015. For the full-year, the company expects net sales of ¥410,000 million, operating income of ¥59,000 million, ordinary income of ¥52,000 and net income of ¥5,000 million or ¥39.37 against previous guidance net sales of ¥415,000 million, operating income of ¥55,000 million, ordinary income of ¥51,000 and net income of ¥12,000 million or ¥94.49.
