Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. Revises Earnings Guidance for the Year Ending December 2015

Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. revised earnings guidance for the year ending December 2015. For the year, the company expects net sales of JPY 415,000 million, operating income of JPY 55,000 million, ordinary income of JPY 51,000 million and net income of JPY 12,000 million or JPY 94.49 against net sales of JPY 425,000 million, operating income of JPY 49,000 million, ordinary income of JPY 45,000 million and net income of JPY 19,000 million or JPY 149.61 as previously forecasted. In the second quarter cumulative period, due to the raw material prices dropping to lower level than anticipated and a cheaper-than-expected yen, operating income and ordinary income exceeded the previously announced forecast (May 12, 2015). However, due to an additional posting of a provision of reserve for product warranties as an extraordinary loss, net income for the quarter underperformed the previously announcement forecast. Regarding the full-year results forecast, for the same reasons the previously announced forecast (May 12, 2015) will be adjusted upward for operating income and ordinary income, while net income for the current quarter will be adjusted downward.
