Power Assets Holdings Limited reported consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2016. For the year, the company reported revenue of HKD 1,288 million compared to HKD 1,308 million a year ago. Operating profit was HKD 252 million compared to HKD 1,238 million a year ago. Profit before taxation was HKD 6,405 million compared to HKD 7,721 million a year ago. Profit for the year attributable to equity shareholders of the company was HKD 6,417 million or HKD 3.01 per basic and diluted share compared to HKD 7,732 million or HKD 3.62 per basic and diluted share a year ago. The decrease in the group's profit was primarily due to the weakening of the pound sterling, a lower UK deferred tax credit adjustment when compared with that of last year, a reduction of shareholding in the HK Electric Investments and HK Electric Investments Limited from 49.9% to 33.37% since June 9, 2015 and reversal of provisions and expenses in 2015.
